Bel hôtel au centre de de Nevers. Accueil chaleureux, personnel à l'écoute. L'établissement est à quelques centaines de mètres de la gare, il est face à un parc public très agréable. Chambre en parfait état et propre. Salle de bain un peu petite avec l'essentiel. Prix abordable au vu de la situation de l'hôtel. Petit déjeuner en buffet assez complet. Possible de stationner des vélos dans un endroit fermé (c'est très pratique)

My wife, two young kids and I all stopped for a night at Hotel Villa du Parc while making our way to the Paris region from Southern France. It was the busiest travel weekend of the year, and we picked this hotel based exclusively on availability, but what a pleasant surprise: we had a four-person room connected to the hotel Garden, which was a lush, green courtyard where my two kids eagerly ran off the hours of energy they stored up in the car. The room was comfortable, large, with separate tub and shower (a rarity in France). The staff were very kind, even playing with my kids at breakfast. The hotel was also across the street from a massive urban park that had one of the biggest play structures I've ever seen. The city centre was about 10 min walk (at most) and had ample choices for dinner. Overall, I can't imagine having picked a better location for our stopover.

There was a fair going on nearby. Because there was no A/C, windows had to stay open, after the fair was over at 11 pm, there were still noisy motorcycles passing by the window much of the night.

The staff was so kind and even though there was a language barrier they tried there hardest to make sure we were welcomed and to make sure we had everything we needed. The room was a bit small, but for one night we managed fine. The only easy feedback to owners would be to upgrade the pillows to something that is more than an inch thick, but overall we were happy and would stay there again, because they were over the top welcoming.

For the price there have to be better options. Though the hotel had safe storage for our bicycles, improvement is needed in many areas. Checkin was supposed to begin at 4pm. After waiting around for about 45 minutes the receptionist finally arrived with no apology or kindness. If we hadn’t already paid for the room, we would not have waited. The room was old and mostly clean, but not to par with most hotels. There was no toilet paper in the room upon checkin. WiFi only worked well in the lobby. Before we departed the next morning, the same receptionist tried to open our door with another key, but we thankfully had our key in the door so it wouldn’t work. All in all, our worst hotel stay of our 5 week trip so far.

We arrived and there was no one. We rang the bell so long. Then we called up. It was good we had a phone. We had 3 luggages & 1 is very heavy. We had to go up to the 3rd floor through a narrow stair flight. The room was clean. It was about 3-5 minutes walk to St. Bernadette’s Shrine. We had a long walk to find a grocery to buy water & stuff. You need to get taxi number in your return to the train station. If you have not much luggage just walk.

This is a small hotel near the centre of Nevers. The owners are welcoming and friendly, and it offers very good value with car parking available. Nevers is an interesting small city, and this hotel overlooking the park is quiet and offers a clean friendly place to stay for a good price.
