Overview of Hôtel Barnett Paris

Hôtel Barnett Paris is a recent addition to the hotel scene of the 18th arrondissement: Traveloka's listing records 2025 as the property's build year, and it holds a 4-star rating. The hotel stands at 193 Rue Marcadet, 75018 Paris, in the Butte-Montmartre area, a residential stretch on the northern slopes of the hill that its own website describes as sitting "in the shadow of Montmartre's hills and between the vibrant alleyways of Pigalle". With 47 rooms, it is a mid-sized, intimate address rather than a large city hotel, and the official site frames its rooms as "intimate cocoons" that combine refined aesthetics with comfort.

What sets Hôtel Barnett Paris apart from many small hotels in this part of Paris is its well-being area. The official site describes a sauna, a massage room and a fitness room with cardio machines, strength equipment and a stretching zone, while Traveloka's listing shows a spa offering massages and a fitness centre. The hotel also has a bar/lounge, a terrace, a private meeting room for up to 12 guests, and a 24-hour front desk with multilingual staff and concierge services.

The hotel is also pet-friendly, with a limited number of pets per room, and describes itself as welcoming guests of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Room Types at Hôtel Barnett Paris

The official website lists seven room categories at Hôtel Barnett Paris, from compact doubles to a 40 m² family room. Traveloka's own policy notes refer to two of them by their French names, Chambre Double Cosy and Chambre Double Classique, so you may see either the French or English labels when you compare options. Exact sizes are only published for some categories, so check the room description on the listing for bed configuration and maximum occupancy before booking.

Cosy Room

The Cosy Room is the entry point of the room ladder. The official site lists a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi and temperature control. It suits solo travellers or couples who will spend most of the day out exploring.

Classic Room

The Classic Room adds a few extras according to the official site, including premium organic coffee and tea, What Matters cosmetics and a Chromecast-enabled TV. Like the Cosy Room, it is a double-occupancy category aimed at couples and short city breaks. The Classic Room can also be connected to a Deluxe Room, which is useful for families or friends travelling together.

Superior Room

The Superior Room measures 20 m² and can be set up with either a double bed or twin beds, which makes it a practical choice for friends or colleagues sharing a room. The official site notes that a baby cot is available and that this category is accessible for guests with reduced mobility.

Superior Room with Balcony

This variation of the Superior Room adds a balcony that, according to the hotel, looks out over the rooftops of Paris. It also offers a double or twin configuration, a baby cot on request and room service.

Deluxe Room

The Deluxe Room accommodates two to three guests, according to the official site, and is accessible for guests with reduced mobility. It can be connected to a Classic Room, and Traveloka's listing confirms that connecting or adjoining rooms are available on request, subject to availability.

Prestige Room with Balcony

At 28 m², the Prestige Room with Balcony is the most spacious double category on the official room list. The hotel highlights exclusive furnishings, luxury finishes, a private balcony and access to the spa area, making it the natural pick for a special-occasion stay.

Family Room

The Family Room is the largest category at 40 m², with two separate areas and two bathrooms, so parents and children each get their own space. It is also listed as accessible for guests with reduced mobility and includes spa access.

Across all rooms, the official site lists a flat-screen TV with Chromecast, a welcome tray with an espresso machine and kettle, slippers, bathrobes, a hairdryer, a safe, convertible air conditioning and heating, and eco-friendly bath products. Traveloka's listing adds that rooms are air-conditioned, have desks, cable programming and complimentary toiletries, and that housekeeping is provided daily.

Facilities and Amenities

For a 47-room property, Hôtel Barnett Paris offers a well-rounded set of facilities. The highlights confirmed by Traveloka's listing and the hotel's official website are:

  • Well-being area: a sauna, a massage room and a fitness room with cardio machines, strength equipment and a stretching zone (official site); Traveloka lists a spa offering massages and a fitness centre.
  • Bar/lounge: one bar on site, per Traveloka's listing.
  • Terrace: listed among the general facilities on Traveloka.
  • Meeting room: a private meeting room for a maximum of 12 guests, described by the hotel as having elegant décor and modern equipment.
  • Connectivity: free WiFi, listed on Traveloka and the official site.
  • Accessibility: disabled-access-friendly facilities and an elevator, with several room categories marked as accessible for guests with reduced mobility.
  • Services: a 24-hour front desk, concierge, multilingual staff, laundry and dry-cleaning services and luggage storage.
  • Parking: Traveloka's listing shows parking as available; contact the property to confirm arrangements before you arrive.
  • Smoke-free areas: designated on Traveloka's listing.

One point worth checking when you book: the hotel's official site says access to the fitness room and sauna is included for all room categories, while Traveloka's check-in information notes that guests in the Chambre Double Cosy and Chambre Double Classique categories may be charged a facilities fee to access the spa and fitness facility. If the well-being area matters to you, confirm the current conditions for your chosen room with the property, or consider a Superior, Deluxe, Prestige or Family room.

The listing notes that some outdoor spaces such as balconies and terraces may not be suitable for young children, so families may wish to contact the hotel before arrival.

For lunch and dinner, the surrounding 18th arrondissement is a lived-in neighbourhood with plenty of local cafés, bakeries and bistros, and the slopes of Montmartre and Place des Abbesses are about a 15-minute walk away. Tips for Booking Hôtel Barnett Paris on Traveloka

  1. Plan around check-in and check-out: check-in starts at 3:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 PM. Luggage storage is available if you arrive early or leave late.
  2. Choose the room for your trip: pick a Superior Room if you need twin beds, a balcony category for a rooftop outlook, or the Family Room for two bathrooms. Request connecting rooms through the property after booking.
  3. Check well-being access: if the sauna and fitness room are a priority, confirm whether a facilities fee applies to your room category.
  4. Decide on breakfast: the buffet breakfast is charged separately unless your rate includes it, so compare room offers with and without breakfast.
  5. Prepare for check-in: government-issued photo ID and a credit card or cash deposit may be required for incidentals. A deposit per stay and a city tax per person, per night for guests aged 18 and over are payable at the property.
  6. Payment notes: the hotel accepts credit cards, debit cards and cash, but French regulations cap the value of cash transactions, so plan to pay larger amounts by card.
  7. Travelling with a pet: pets are accepted in limited numbers per room; contact the hotel in advance to confirm.

Lovely hotel, with a small but well appointed room. The air conditioning was a godsend in the July heat. Excellent position close to many restaurants and bars in a residential part of Paris. Little cakes at reception and a free bottle of wine with our stay were also nice touches. Would definitely recommend overall. The gym was nice, you book a 45 min slot which includes the sauna and a large rainforest style shower. I cannot fault the sauna and shower, however the gym was a little style over substance with expensive but minimally usable equipment. If you are booking for a spa, go ahead, if you are expecting a fully kitted gym you can use at your leisure, consider somewhere else.

Room (604) really nice, quiet and comfortable. No mini-fridge to store cold water etc. Breakfast offerings was suitable to kick-start your day. Smokers had an area outside the breakfast area which is fine but doors not always closed which is off-putting if you can’t stand cigarette smoke. I wouldn’t say the staff are 100% attentive so don’t expect an engaging customer experience.

Kind staff, clean room, average WiFi, air conditioning was very loud and sounded like rain icicles, there is also no warning on the towel rack. It is a warmer on ALL the time. I went to go grab a towel and it fell, I went to catch it and I burnt my hand on the scorching hot metal bar. There should definitely be a warning label on it. Otherwise it was a nice stay. I would return.

The hotel was good and staff were very helpful all the time. Room was clean and the bathroom was clean too. A bit disappointed that a deluxe room wouldn't have an under counter fridge. I would expect to see this in a deluxe room of a 4 star. Also we had to keep asking for tea bags in the room as there was none left every day. No milk either for tea

Overall, it was an amazing stay. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating in all aspects - reception, kitchen, housekeeping. Everyone was so, so lovely. The room was clean and tidy, the breakfast buffet was very nice and had a good selection, and the decor in the whole hotel was immaculate. Throughout our two week stay, we only had a couple of issues - our phone wouldn't stay connected so we couldn't make calls to or receive calls from reception, our coffee maker didn't work consistently, and other guests were loudly slamming doors and moving chairs across the floor - but none of those issues were worth deducting a star from this review in my opinion. The courtesy and kindness of the staff more than made up for any shortcomings of the hotel.
