Hôtel Cositel Coutances

We stayed at the hotel the night we dold our house in France. The room was very clean and really large and comfortable. I liked the drinks on tap in recrption - a nice touch. We were really looking forward to the breakfast - the fresh bread was delicious as was the jam but the fruit salad was out of a tin the fresh orange juice was a nice idea but too messy to do the pastries were of the supermarket standard, poor, and the coffee was undrinkable! We both love and have coffee every morning but yours was horrible - we were expecting much better for the money - and although we like the hotel we would not stay again.

A surprise gem, slightly older hotel so unsure when we arrived but the staff are wonderful and the location is great, walkable (20mins down the hill and back up) to the town. A really pleasant stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Disabled parking opposite entrance very helpful for me. Beds comfortable. Everything very clean. Breakfast totally unchanged each day but good choice. Continental breakfast. Room quiet but gloomy and tired. Nice gardens. Good value overall.

Relatively small, intimate hotel, about 30 mins walk from Coutances centre ville.

- Receptionists were excellent. - Breakfast was good. - Not easy to obtain taxi service. - Room was excellent but could not adjust the temperature easily and so it was very hot at night!

Cositel Hotel is pleasant and quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room, although there was a drinks machine downstairs.

Great setting of the hotel, upon arrival we were given an upgrade of our room. Nice and very large on the ground floor. A somewhat dated room but nevertheless clean and lovely. Parking was easy and on the large grounds. A quiet area. For dinner we decided to walk into town a walk of about 25 minutes. To begin with it was downhill and then levelled out and then up the hill towards the church. We are older citizens and the walk was no major challenge more a lovely walk. The town has many choices for dinner and is a nice place to walk around. Overall the hotel was a very good choice. Breakfast was a nice affair.

L’employé a la réception était vraiment très agréable et sympathique. L’hôtel était bien mais notre lit était très dur. Nous étions avec un autre personne et leur chambre et lit était super.

Comfortable, simple, clean, convenient facility, very cordial and helpful staff, good breakfast.

Stayed one night. The lady at reception was lovely and welcoming. We booked a prestige double room for well over 100 euros with breakfasts and had the following issues: - No air conditioning! - Mould spots on the ceiling - Blinds do not block out the light well. - Broken fixtures in the bathtub and no way to keep the shower head above your own head. - Very little toiletry accessories (no cotton buds, no shampoo, only a single tiny soap to share for two). - Weak water pressure.  - A tiny single bottle of water in a room booked for two persons. - No extras (no tissues, don't expect a mint or little chocolate). ------------------------- Une nuitée. La dame à l'accueil était charmante et accueillante. Nous avions réservé une chambre double prestige pour au moins 100 euros avec petits déjeuners et avons les observations suivantes: - Pas de climatisation ! - Taches de moisissure au plafond - Les rideaux ne bloquent pas bien la lumière. - Accessoires cassés dans la baignoire et aucun moyen de garder la pomme de douche au-dessus de votre tête. - Très peu d'accessoires de toilette (pas de cotons-tiges, pas de shampoing, un seul tout petit savon à partager à deux). - Faible pression d'eau. - Une petite bouteille d'eau dans une chambre réservée pour deux personnes. - Pas d'extras (pas de mouchoirs, ne vous attendez pas à une menthe ou à un chocolat sur l'oreiller).

I have stayed in this hotel before and I will do on our next visit to France.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. We had to leave early because of the travel restrictions on Europe, and the staff was very helpful to get us checked out immediately, even though it wasn’t their policy to do immediate check outs.

Very friendly and helpful but beginning to look a bit down at heel - stained carpets, front wall of bar counter covering coming away etc.

Spacious rooms and a gorgeous garden! Beds were very comfy. Only improvement could be made was service to the rooms. A maintenance concerned went unaddressed and trash was missed by housekeeping one day. Overall would recommend

Room was clean but basic and tired. A new carpet would be nice. There was a strange mural painted on the wall which is harmless, but old fashioned, and the room smelt a bit musty and damp. The shower room was nice though and seemed recently renovated. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk into town, on the other side of a valley, so not a level walk, but pleasant enough.

Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Rooms need to be smartened up, some look tired.

Mostly used by business people when we visited. Only a choice of two meals on the menu so only ate there once. The bar and restaurant lack atmosphere but the staff are very good and hospitable

The Inter-Hotel Cositel Coutances is a safe and clean hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are small but adequate; the furniture and bathrooms could do with a bit of a touch up (we had to ask for extra towels as there was only one set for two people.) The garden with pond is nice for an evening drink, the bar entirely without character except for the 50s radio. Overall, the hotel has a faded 1950s vibe and is a good place (ample free parking!) for a one or two nights’ stay in the area.

This is a great hotel for exploring the area around about with good links. Facilities are basic but adequate for the price. Some areas could do with updating and replacing. I would recommend taking a hairdryer as the fixed one in the bathroom isn’t the best. Breakfast is good if you choose the optional extra. Staff are friendly and helpful.
