Hôtel Maison Lacassagne

The best part of my experience is the very helpful and welcoming staff at the reception. I stayed for 5 nights and 6 days, and felt the warm welcome all throughout. Location: This is located in the quieter residential area of Montchat, which is a plus if you prefer to be further away from the city centre and crowds. The main tourist attractions are about 20-40 minutes away but still accessible via the transport system. Be mindful that the buses and trams may operate on less frequent schedule on certain days but still reliable. As long as you make it Grange Blanche (which you can also do on foot), the metro and the rest of the transport system are more frequent and regular. Breakfast: After dining elsewhere and taking a food tour, I realise we’ve been spoilt for breakfast choices. Turnover may not be as fast compared to hotel chains, but the assortment and quality are good. Side note: The setup is not quite a true buffet so I would recommend to get your share in one trip as much as possible or use the spare plates (I did) or maybe request for fresh plates if you really have to. Dining options: Theres is no room service but there are several options even up to late night nearby, and the reception staff will be more than willing to provide recommendations. Room: I can only speak for a double bed setup. The separate toilet config is a bit odd. Cleaning sched was quite random during my stay and not the “hotel chain level” of clean. Overall, these are minor & I have no issues.

Our room was extremely small and dirty. The cost of breakfast was too much for what was offered. We were glad our stay was only for a night.

Loved our stay, we arrived very early & were allowed into our room after a brief wait and a complementary coffee in the wonderfully relaxing garden. I see other people saying the hotel is a bit far from the city but in our experience it was great with the excellent public transport service available we were in the city centre in under 25 mins. The staff were all very helpfull and friendly, when back in Lyon we’d definitely stay again.

We can with our bikes from Canada and we’re happy to find a nice backyard to build them back and a shed to store them for the night. Perfect !

The rooms were small and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. We would return.

Personnel très agréable et souriant. Rien à redire de ce côté. Chambre petite mais propre et fonctionnelle. 3 sujets problématiques dans la chambre 113 : 1) La musique diffusée dans le hall n'est pas spécialement forte, mais les basses résonnent dans les murs et empêchent de dormir. Le personnel l'a compris et gentiment coupé, encore faut-il faire le tour des voisins avant de comprendre d'où cela vient. 2) Qualité du wifi très mauvaise, impossible de passer des appels visio 3) Problème sur la réception des chaînes tv, l'image est saccadée et le programme devient désagréable à suivre quel que soit la chaîne.

Attention à bien ouvrir aux personnes qui arrivent tard (il semble que la sonnette ne fonctionne pas au sous-sol), j’ai dû investiguer en pleine nuit pour aider un couple à la porte. Mais je dormais deja et n’ai pu dormir que 4 heures me levant à 5 h 00. Mais la personne de l’hôtel etait bien désolé et n’a pas eu l’information (ça n’a pas sonné de son coté) donc n’y pouvait pas grand chose le pauvre.

Une valeur sure dans ce quartier !
