Nice hotel with friendly staff

The room was not the best, bathroom required renovation and in general service could be improved, in fact we stayed for 2 nights and nobody cleaned our room after the first day... we returned in our room around midnight and we found it as it was at 10 am

Location brilliant , building outside needs painting / cleaning , gardens overgrown , breakfast good , rooms need overhaul , carpets really dirty and stained , bathrooms very tired looking ,swimming pool very nice , could be a very good hotel with a lot of work , wouldn’t stay there again

Excellent location and great staff

Unfortunately, this has been one of the dirtiest hotels we’ve ever stayed in. The carpets were stained and the bathroom floor was sticky. The rooms were not serviced once during our 4 night stay apart from the bins being emptied daily. No fresh towels either. The staff were friendly but seemed a little put out if we asked them for help with anything such as restaurant or taxi reservations . Breakfast was good though.

Great location with a lovely view of the fortress and a short walk to the town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was well maintained and clean.

The hotel was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant provided a reasonable choice of evening meal. It was an easy walk from the hotel into the old city.

Par rapport à l'IBis Calais le petit déjeuner était très décevant. Nous avons apprécié l'accès au jardin directement dans les jardins pour notre chien. La piscine n'était pas disponible et le repas du soir était décevant. Mais le personnel était très gentil. L'hôtel pourrait bénéficier d'un coup de peinture. Compared with the IBis Calais the breakfasr was very disappointing. Enjoyed access into the garden directly in the gardens for our dog. Swinmming pool was not available and the evening meal disappointing. But really nice tem of staff. The hotel could enjoy a lick of paint.

The property is run down a little bit, mainly outside. The room is clean although the sink was clog The staff are very polite and the check-in was pretty fast. Free parking and Wi-Fi.

We spent three nights here. First impressions were the hotel needed refurbishing, however our room was clean and well maintained as was the dining room. Enough choice at breakfast for a substantial meal although some hot drinks from the machine were un drinkable. Staff very approachable and helpful. We had breakfast before we left at 5am. Pool small but perfect for my children who are learning to swim. Enjoyed drinks from bar on several occasions. Easy ten minute walk into town across bridge.

Great spot for an overnight stop on our way further south. Clean, tidy, near to Chinon and good breakfast. And the kids loved the pool.

The property is somewhat run down both inside and out. The rooms however, are clean and the view of the fortress at night is lovely. Our rate included breakfast and free parking which was a cost saving bonus.

Hotel with free parking and free WiFi, a short walk into Chinon. Room was comfortable and recently refurbished. The refurbishment is continuing in the hotel at the moment. A good location for a one night stopover whilst on a road trip.

When I arrived at the hotel, I discovered that I was allocated a bedroom on the second floor. On enqiring whether they had rooms designed for handicapped persons, they immediatety changed by room to such and I was able to use all the facilities in safety.

The hotel had nice touches like croissant and self service hot drinks in the lobby and pre-dinner tapas. One of us became ill and the staff was very sympathetic and kind.

I made an error when I booked 2 rooms for one night as I put a date in May rather than August ( my fault completely) . I only discovered this a few days after the date in May. I re-booked my 2 rooms for the correct dates and explained my error to Hotels.com who contacted the hotel. Despite the fact that the Hotel was probably not fully booked, I had stayed there before, and I had re-booked my rooms for another date, they refused to offer me any refund ( I think I’d even paid extra for breakfasts) and charged me 100% of the booking which was over 200 euros. So basically it was my fault but forget any goodwill or customer care. This Hotel couldn’t care less and just wants your money it seems!

Enjoyable stay in clean, quiet hotel, easy to find, and provided good breakfast including boiled eggs
