We stayed at The Moka early December, the reception staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and spoke good English as our French wasn't that good. The double modern 'boutique style' room was relaxing with a very comfortable bed, a relief after a Campanile the night before...there was an area to hang clothes and a TV, a kettle (with tea/coffee) and bottle of water. The attached bathroom was very clean, modern, tiled throughout with a shower and bath. White towels renewed every day.
The hotel is a very short distance to Niort train station, but it was not noisy at all, we didn't hear any trains. The central square, and shopping area are very good, a 4 minute walk away with plenty of cafes, restaurants. As it was almost the Christmas period, there were some cute wooden chalets which sold various Christmas gifts foods and 'spiced, warmed up' wine, even a mini ski slope!
The best thing about this hotel were the staff, who made you feel so welcome and were so helpful and accommodating!

Niort is a little tired. I stopped off on my way from Le Mans to Bordeaux. It was Sunday night and Niort was closed. I couldn't find a restaurant.
The hotel is very modern and clean with plenty of on-road parking outside.

Défaut majeur : froid de canard dans la salle de bain, et impossible de laisser le chauffage tourner dans la chambre (bruit d'avion qui décolle, vieille chaufferie). Obligé de le couper pour dormir et donc chambre froide au réveil. Dommage, ça rend les choses un peu désagréable.
