Hotel Rachel

The restaurants were great and walking distance. Beds weren’t bad but squeaky.

Ideally located by the marina and drop off for the ferry from Athens. Beach and gorgeous bay less that 100m away, with the main Marina strip of restaurants and bars within a few steps walk. Really good room for the price. Stayed here 4 nights. Incredibly helpful and friendly owner. Would recommend.

It suited our needs. Staff was accommodating. Minutes to beach.

They just need to update their website- laundry service is not available, although there is a private one opening across the street.

The hotel is very close to the beach, breakfast was good, the room was confortable, but the bathroom was a stinky, something goin on with the drains. Everyone who work there are friendly and helpful.

This property was very close to a beautiful beach for swimming. My daughter and I felt very safe walking around this family community where people were always saying hello and always engaged in chit chat with each other. Shopping was fun, especially if you love pistachios. There was a very beautiful ancient temple that we climbed up to. If was a very steep climb so I recommend anyone with mobility issues to take a taxi.

Extremely helpful stuff. Very polite and always available to help. The street is rather quiet and the beach is 60m from hotel The bathroom is extremely small at least in our room. Although it was quite old, it was clean

The location was literally a 1 min walk to a beautiful clean beach! The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was cosy and clean. There are shops, restaurants and cafes just steps away from the hotel. Very good value for the money. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was a comfortable size with a large balcony. Location was great. The beach and shops were right outside. From this location you’ll be close to the temple ruins of aphaea and the church of saint nektarios which is a plus. The owner offers breakfast for 5 euro per person which we liked due to the convenience. Overall I would stay there again when visiting the island.

I stay in hotels +300 nights per year. This is my first review. This is a very well-located (20 feet to beach), clean hotel run by two exceptionally friendly owners. They greeted me warmly. Gave me all sorts of information about the island. And left a nice Greek desert in my room while I was out. The next morning they helped me start my dead scooter. And I noticed they greeted me by name every time I saw them (not sure how they can remember names like that). Highest recommendation. This is the hotel to stay at on Aegina.

We could not have been happier with our stay at Hotel Rachel. It is a very short walk from the bus stop (maybe 2 minutes) and the minute we walked in the door, we were made to feel welcome and special. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are very comfortable. The beach is 200 steps away (I counted), and it is absolutely beautiful. The room had a hairdryer, fridge, kettle, iron and ironing board and air conditioning. The shower was lovely and hot. The breakfast was perfect - a huge choice of cereals, Greek yoghurt and honey, ham, cheese, eggs and a lovely variety of bread, which was so fresh from the local bakery that it was actually still warm! The hotel owners, Janis and Angelica, were the perfect hosts. The were extremely friendly and welcoming, and after being there for 5 minutes, we felt like old friends, not hotel guests. The lovely lady,ελπίδα, who works hard cleaning the rooms,could not do enough for us and our room was spotless every day. I can honestly say that I shed a tear when we left, as it had been so amazing. The only consolation is that we have already made arrangements to go back in September!

It was a last-minute decision to get away and after a bit of research on Hotels.com I decided on Hotel Rachel and was not disappointed. It is a wonderfully run little gem, the owner's can't be more helpful, the room was perfect for sleeping off a busy day with a lovely view of the bay. The bugs were out in force but the hotel very helpfully supplies a plug-in bug repellent. The fridge is a lifesavernon a hot day, my frozen bottles of water got me through the day. The breakfast buffet is excellent. Highly recommend this hotel!

Bargain - friendly owners, ideal for beach, pleasant room, good breakfast. Not best resort out of season however
