New Guangzhou Guesthouse - Hostel

The check in experience was crazy, no clear directions. I ended up staying in a different floor in a guesthouse I didn’t book, presumably owned by a friend of the owner? Staff were friendly, but doesn’t make up for the shocking experience. I’d reccomend finding a nicer place further from the center.

What i like is only because it easier to find halal food around it. What i dont like is basically the cleanliness, the staff and the amenities

It’s a good location, near MTR and bus station but you should stay 1-2 days only. The bathroom was very small, dirty and smell. The staff were nice. On the other hand, the room wasn’t easy to find. I can stay here because I want to save my money and it’s good for people who can stay in anyplace.

A quick Google search for chungking mansion will tell you about this informous buildings reputation, overcrowding and lack of safety. Almost all of the cheap and central accommodation will be in this building or next door. Our room turned out to be in the building next door which was a little better and the apartment itself had been recently renovated and quite clean. We were put in a single room when we'd booked a double. The service was fine too. Just be aware of what you're booking before staying here.

Friendly and affordable.

My gosh, I'll never forget this one-star hostel experience. Surely something I'll remember for the rest of my life. The manager who checked me in was very nice and even upgraded my room to a double. I only had a bunk mate for one night. Bossman even lent me an adapter. Overall, a good experience.

The room was very smelly.... the bed cover and mattress dirty..... we had bed bugs..... the manager was very rude unorganized, not helpful in any way...... the lift was smelly and busy all the time....... the entrance of the building was dirty full of scammers and people try to selling any sorts of stuff including drugs very unsafe I saw people fighting many time police have to be called in to calm the situation especially late at night....... the restaurant where incredibly dirty with rude staff........ I did not enjoy stay there at all and I will not suggest to anyone to go either.....

There was no room available despite we had booked the room. They did transfer us to another/sister hostel (Castle Inn Hostel) in the same building. When I asked to change the bedsheets, they ignored my request the first time. I had to call the 'receptionist' when I returned to the room late at night and waited for an hour before the staff could arrive and change for us. I am still cool with that because at least the bedsheets are changed until I ask why did the guy brought only one bedsheet where there are two beds in the room. He told me that I said change only one bedsheet. And the most unacceptable thing he said to me was:"We have given you a big room when you have booked a room for 2 single(bed)." Wow! I was totally blown away and I told him I did mentioned bedsheetS and, NO, I DID booked a room for 2 WITH double beds. I asked for a TV remote that never came, and TV that promised to fixed but unsure if that have done that as I cannot receive and channels. Other than that, we were ok with the lift that took quite some time to arrive. Be prepared that you may have to wait for next round just to get in the lift. If you wanna avoid such case, wake up earlier. The worse timing taking the lift around10:30AM to 3:30PM, where most people check out/check in, and after 10PM where most people returning back to their hostel. I cannot say the room is sparkling clean but at least the bathroom was clean and no bedbugs.

It is quite small in the hostel. Good that with air conditioning and WiFi.

First day they are out of rooms, finally put me in another business’ place without private bathroom after leaving me alone for 30 minutes (I had to call to get them back) . The only good thing about this place is that they did answer my calls when I stranded at their check-in places, and when I enquirer about room change and asked about laundry place. 2nd day, they got me a room, but the wall and floor is alway wet (not just damp) not sure if it is the weather or AC from nearby(oh, the AC in the room doesn’t work) they say they are giving me a bigger room with 2 twin beds, but one bed has used sheets roll up, no use at all, can’t even up my suitcase on it because of the dirty sheets. Horrible way to spend a birthday. I got a room at another place in the same building with better appliances,services, for a cheaper price, came here because I want to extend my stay, but the other place has no availability. Glad to leave Hong Kong.

finding the place and finding someone to service the booking on arrival was the problem... and for the money it was clean and ideal... and it is in the centre of everywhere,,, underground or MRT trains just across the road. .. really, its Kowloon at it best, right in amongst it. I lived there 2 years in flash hotels,,, this was more fun, I will do it again

Excellent location right at heart of city walking distance to main MTR line. Located above cheap shops for food, SIM cards and money exchanges. Fast internet and ideal place to save money for other tourist attractions

The room is quite small considered staying in HK. But of course that can be fixed with room cleanliness but no. Tower and bed sheets are dirty. Even though they do cleaning everyday, but never do it neat and tidy.

Just okay, love the location. The high bed is a struggle for my mom who is old and have weak knees. But its safe, and good enough to give us a peaceful sleep so overall its satisfactory enough and would recommend for those who is looking for a budget place at a good location. Just a reminder, its NOT for fussy people who does not like crowded lift and noisy ground floor.

It was quite cool in Hong Kong and there was no heat and a cold chill coming from the a/c unit in the window. The sheets had not been changed as there was hair and other things on the bed. The towels are very old and worn out and can't really dry you off. The gentleman who checked me in was nice, the room I booked was gone so I got the family room for no extra charge. Even that was tiny, but that is Hong Kong. There is no way two people can stand between the beds at the same time. Small LCD tv with very limited channels, the WIFI signal was very good, no issues. Very close to everything. Just remember it takes at least two hours from when your plane lands to get to the hotel, if you take the bus, and check-out closes at midnight. My plane landed at 9:25, I was very fast through customs, had no luggage to wait for and a bus was right there as I walked out. I wouldn't let a family stay in this building though, a little seedy and rough around the edges.

Bodde på dorm, billigt ja. Våningssängarna är för asiater,är du längre än 1,80 får du inte plats. Renlighet ja dom bytte papperskorgen 2 ggr men sopade inte ens golvet under min 5 d vistelse. Badrummet va fullt med svartmögel Nej, inte igen.
