Guesthouse Nýp

This was a nice guesthouse. It’s far out from the main road and a really quiet area.

It is located off the beaten path of north west corner of Iceland, surrended by the fjord on the one side and cliff mountain on another side. It the great place to experience wilderness and stay this comfortable guesthouse. The staff is super nice and cooking very good taste dinner (optional, you can cook yourself as well).

The twin bed is probably only 80cm wide that you could easily fall off the bed

This a lovely place to stay in a fairly remote area. Beautiful views of the fjord and surrounding mountains. There are dining options and a shared kitchen on top of the basic kitchen in your room.

Great little guesthouse off the beaten path in iceland between western fjords and snaefellsnes peninsula. Rooms were super comfy. They have a shared kitchen that you can cook in.

This is a truly unique & beautiful guesthouse in a tranquil location. Thora is an incredible artist, chef and warm host. I enjoyed my stay there immensely.

Best guesthouse experience in Iceland. The location - by waterfalled cliffs and the bay - is beautiful, in an entire country of beautiful locations. The guesthouse itself functions also as an art space, which you can see in the entry hallway as well as in the design / decor of the place. The service is excellent - Thora and Sumar are wonderful hosts (and great gardeners) and Hubert was exceptionally welcoming. Also, notably eco-friendly - e.g., the food they serve they grow in their own greenhouse and/or source it locally, they compost, etc. Was the most peaceful time I had in Iceland and would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful place with exceptional service. Food was great. Place is right next to a river overlooking the ocean.

If you are looking for an amazing place to stay that’s off the beaten path this is it! Also make sure to sign-up for dinner. It was one of the best meals we had during a week in Iceland.

I liked that the property had a lot of character. A farmhouse turned into a guesthouse is a nice idea. However, the room we slept in was really small - could hardly get our bags situated comfortably in there. In the city I could understand space as a limited factor but in the country side I don’t get it. I didn’t like that the shared bathroom was so far from our rooms as well. We had to walk through a common area where people also eat to get to the bathroom. Rather inconvenient. Also the stairs are a bit hazardous and I can see one tripping if not careful. The host/owner seemed a little bit annoyed when we arrived later in the night (though, still within the check-in time frame stated), and it seemed she had to force herself a bit to be hospitable. She didn’t show us that there was a kitchen right around our room - we totally could have stored our food there but decided to eat it up as fast we could that night! The towels offered were as stiff as cardboards, there were insects that kept us up at night in our room and big mosquitoes in the bath, the paid breakfast was quite measly in terms of variety, quality, and quantity. No hot/warm foods either. Lastly, what I liked least about the place is that it felt like a museum/store rather than a home or a resting place because the owner displayed and was selling local items in her home. The last thing I want to do is buy something when I come home to rest. So overall, I was not rested or refreshed when I stayed here.

Wow what a location. Way off the beaten path. In the middle of nowhere, yet close to everything in the westfjords. Idealic location next to the shore with amazing views. Hosts are very nice with a brand new hotel. Stay here to be close to the falls and the cliffs.

Nous avons passé une seule nuit dans cette Guesthouse. Nos hôtes sont super accueillants et adorables. La maison est superbe et son architecture atypique lui donne beaucoup de charme. C’est un endroit très calme, tout est très propre et bien équipé. Endroit confortable où vous vous sentez comme chez vous. C’était parfait ! Nous recommandons l’adresse ! Seul point négatif : la maison est très isolée donc bien faire ses courses pour les repas car pas de supérette alentours (la plus proche est à 45 minutes en voiture) et pas d’option de restauration proche non plus

Excelente lugar. Staff muito atencioso. A Marta nos recebeu extremamente bem. Local silencioso, limpo e agradável. Chalé pequeno mas completo e agradável. Os quartos na casa principal são mais espaçosos e tem cozinha e refeitório comunitarios para uso dos hospedes. Localização muito bonita e tranquila, mas longe de tudo. Recomendo
