Konvin Hotel by Reykjavik Keflavik Airport

The reception didn't provide the information on how to get to the hotel from the airport, except saying Bus 55 with the bus' schedule attached.It turned out that there were many stops inbetween, and the driver had no clue on where to let us go, and the hotel was far away from the stop and not visible at all, and the name of the bus stop was not pronounsable. Instead the reception could have told us to please get off the bus at a particular stop and provide the name of this stop to us. And then give us further instructions on where to walk, which direction to take, and how to get to the hotel since the front facade was under construction and the big canvas to the left announcing "to go around" was ripped. This laid back attitude of the reception was not good. The room had no fridge. And two tea bags only for two adults from 4 pm till midnight was something unheard of before. Good were hotel's hall on the ground floor, the mattresses, the breakfast and the hotel shuttle.

PROS: Location within easy walking to many wonderful restaurants and pubs but far enough to be out of the highest noise level of the neighborhood nightlife. Balcony doors that allow fresh air and bright light. Economic layout with a genrous island featuring cooktop, sink, and surface spread for those who want the option to cook and eat in. I loved having a second sink outside the one in the toilet. Complimentary coffee in room is very good. Considering the prices of coffee in Reykjavik, this was a big plus. Water out of the faucet is what you get in the exported Icelandic water bottles. Water out of the shower was divine with great pressure and temps. Very slight sulphur smell when I first opened the shower door separating shower room from bedroom which quickly disappeared from my radar. Filtered? The queen bed and bedding were very comfortable. Good cotton linens. CONS: The downside to the bank of glass doors lining the length of the balcony is the high light level from security lighting that creeps through the edges of closed curtains at night. Bring eye masks if this bothers you. Our room, 204(?) faced a lovely church which rang its bells often. Bring ear plugs if this will bother you. Overall, for the price, we felt we got terrific value and would stay again. Great location.

Does the job for an airport stay. Nothing special.

The room was very spacious with very nice bathroom. The only issue was the lighting in the bathroom which was very dark.

Lighting in rooms is so dim I had to use a flashlight to pack my suitcase even with all lights on and curtains opened. Be aware that while they advertise an airport shuttle, it only takes you to the airport. There is NO PICKUP at the airport.

The hotel is located conveniently near the international airport KEF.

Free shuttle to the airport stopped at 10 am.

This was a convenient and practical place to stay while on a long layover between North America and Europe.

Rentted car and stayed 2 nights at the property. Notices of discountscombining. The property was under construction. Breakfast was great and included, however dinner was very overpriced and underwhelming. We ate next door

We were very happy w the free shuttle to the airport and the pizza was great at the bistro

AMERICANS & FOREIGNERS BEWARE OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT NOT WELCOMING, RUDE STAFF charges xtra for coffee pods in your room we were a party of 3 in a triple room they would only give us 2 completely Nespresso coffee pods they charge for extra any other hotel will give you free complimentary coffee pods for a room coffee maker Hotel description online is very deceiving especially w/the airport shuttle it was listed 24/7airport shuttle it indeed was NOT they only offer certain times from THEIR PROPERTY to the airport NOT PICK UP from the airport they shld make it more clear in the listing but the blame this platform When you go to sign up for your shuttle there is a big nasty attitude from the staff like you’re putting them out having them get off their personal phones & actually do their jobs The RUDE staff were clearly talking with disrespect about us in their icelandic language when they are perfectly cable of speaking in English such a great feeling being a paying guest & being disrespected the rooms are cold & smell only have 1 sitting chair for 3ppl the pictures are clearly photoshop’d online becuz in person it was not that nice & isn’t very close to the airport it’s about 1/2 hr ride there is nothing to do close by front staff won’t help w/ referring any excursions when I called they had no interest to recommend excursions to do while staying at their establishment that should have been my first red flag NOT ACCOMMODATING! RUDE STAFF BAD EXPERIENCE MANGER WONT RETURN MY CALL

This was a nice hotel, convenient to the airport. It has a nice restaurant but the best part for me was the airport shuttle which starts at 4am since I had to be at airport by 4:40 am. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

We discovered a bed bug upon getting into bed. We immediately notified the front desk staff, left the hotel, and requested a refund. We were only there for about 1 hour prior to discovering the bug. We were told it would be refunded. I have reached out to f/u 3x over the last week with no reply from mgmt. and no refund has been processed yet. I would've hoped someone from mgmt. would have responded to me by now with acknowledgement of the issue and assurance of the refund being processed.

Nice property. We had a quad room for family of four, spacious and good for the one night stay we had. Comfortable beds and good bathroom. Breakfast was nice and had sufficient options. Quick and efficient checkin and checkout. No major complaints.

We were only here for a few hours after a red-eye flight but it was great. We missed breakfast because we were exhausted however it smelt amazing!

Hotel and staff were great! Never ate in the restaurant. Just like other places too expensive. Room was very clean and very roomy. Bathroom was good. The shower was not so good VERY SLIPPERY!!! The lighting was terrible! Very dark in bathroom and sleeping area. I would come back and I would recommend it. Once the renovations of the entry are done it will be beautiful! Transportation is great to and from airport!

Convenient for an over night stay before our flight. Free parking. Didn’t use the restaurant.
