Aki Grand Hotel & Spa

I totally love this hotel. The view was breathtaking. The dinner was a traditional Japanese dinner wich was quiet an experience. The onsen was amazing (private). The ride in the boat at night to see the Tori gate was really nice. Plus they have a shuttle to and from the train station.

The staff were wonderful. Lovely family hotel that had a great ambience. The food was exceptional and onsens lovely and relaxing. Wonderful location and easy access to Miyajima island.

Gorgeous views and comfy room. Loved the night time boat tour to the Tori gate at Miyajima. Staff all brilliant and lovely and shuttle service to and from the train station was great.

Wonderful hotel. Old world charm. Excellent dining in the house. We booked the private onsen and it was fantastic.

The property was a little dated but would have been very opulent in its day. Large rooms, comfortable beds and lovely views. The shuttle bus to the station was a huge bonus.

Room is very dated, bathroom is small, not enough plug ins and inadequate electric currents, my toothbrush lasted for one cleaning after charging overnight. Most unfriendly staff among my many Japanese stays. However, location and view is excellent

Grest staff, great amenities, the private open-air bath was incredible, will definitely book again next time i’m in Japan.

This hotel caters to a Japanese clientele which may have different expectations. Our room, furnished in the Japanese style, had a magnificent water view. The fixtures were well maintained but outmoded. We slept on futons on the floor. It had a shuttle bus that ran on a regular basis to the train station and ferry.

The view of the room is perfect. But the hotel is a little bit old style, the restaurant food is so so.

Excellent location

I booked 1 room for 2 persons but price was only for 1 person then they charged me $300 extra for another person/night.

This hotel is BEAUTIFUL! The staff is super friendly and willing to help, the rooms (Japanese style) are amazing and really large. You have a view of the ocean and the Tori in Miyajima. The breakfast buffet is delicious and the private onsen was a great experience after our hike to Mount Misen. There is a very convenient shuttle to the Ferry Station. I can't recommend this hotel enough, we really liked it!

The hotel was nice, however it was a little disappointing that I feel like the photos didn’t exactly tell the entire story of the building. And the actual website of the hotel was much more detailed in realistic than the hotels.com breakdown. It would have been nice to know in advance that the pool wasn’t actually open, none of the restaurants inside the hotel were open, and the onsen wasn’t tattoo friendly. Because the hotels.com details we booked the hotel based on the amenities we saw and the information provided. Which didn’t actually end up being true to when we got there. But the staff was great, the hotel is a beautiful Japanese style with modern comforts, and it’s in a great location to train station and local/city sites. Would recommend anyone to stay here however to check the hotels own website for further details not just the hotels.com listings.

Pool was promised and we were told on arrival that it wasn’t available at 30+ degrees Not good enough

Staffing were very kind and provided great service. The transportation alwasy were on time and helpful. For sure we will be coming back. Suarez Family
