It was practically all self service. But if you needed an actual customer service interaction, the option was available as well. General info on tv was in English and even offered Video On Demand that included mostly English movies and programming. Quick and easy access to the Temple and convenient stores.

Bed was firm, but still comfortable. AC worked well, fairly quiet rooms/location. Hotel staff were very polite and helpful despite our lack of ability in Japanese. The location could NOT have been better. It was safe, yet very close to the train station and other attractions. Would definitely stay there again!

Getting from the airport to APA Hotel Asakusa Kaminarimon is straightforward, with several hotel transfer options available. Whether you're looking for speed or affordability, here's a breakdown of your choices for transfer from airport to hotel:

  • Taxi (Most Direct):

A taxi is the most direct way to reach the hotel. You can find taxi stands outside the arrival halls of both Narita (NRT) and Haneda (HND) airports. Be prepared for a potentially higher fare, especially during peak hours.
  • Limousine Bus (Convenient):

The Airport Limousine Bus offers a comfortable and convenient ride directly to several major hotels in the Asakusa area. Check if APA Hotel Asakusa Kaminarimon is on the route or a nearby stop.
  • Narita Express (N'EX) & Train (Efficient):

From Narita Airport, take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station, then transfer to the JR Yamanote Line to Kanda Station, and finally change to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line to Asakusa Station. The hotel is a short walk from the station.
  • Keisei Skyliner & Train (Affordable):

The hotel is well located for Sensō-ji and numerous bars and restarants. It should be quiet but the windows aren't very good, so we were kept awake by a loudly cawing crow and noisy motorbikes. Rooms on higher floors may be better. I recommend booking a twin room, as the double room is so small that, if you're next to the wall, it's impossible to get out of bed without climbing over the person you're sleeping next to. The staff were friendly. While the breakfast choices are limited, the food was very good and enough to see us through.

The hotel uses a single elevator to get to all the floors which creates some interesting scenarios. The hall way is narrow, and not easily passable during cleaning time if you are here for a longer stay because the staff pretty much leave everything in the hallway. Good views on the upper floor however.

Every night at about 11pm-midnight, hotel staff or a delivery person would come up to the 14th floor and start making extremely loud banging sounds, moving large heavy objects all around, hitting walls and slamming doors. It woke us up every single night. I tried to ask them to be quieter on the last night but the language barrier prevented that from being successful. This is likely a specific issue of the room we stayed in since the storage closet was on one side and the other side was the elevator shaft. So it was surrounding our room. But TV setup was nice, room was pretty clean, and it had a decent view of the city.

I did not try the breakfast. The ad in the elevator was not appealing. The room was nice but try to get one that doesn’t face the building next door if you want non frosted glass. The service staff were great! The front office very helpful. There’s a laundromat a couple blocks away. The location is good, close enough to walk to the shopping and attractions but far enough away to be quiet. I’d stay there again

The hotel is in a really good location within Asasuka. It’s very close to the temple, and train stations. The hotel was really clean and the staff very friendly. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was good and reasonably priced. It was nice the hotel had complimentary umbrellas to borrow for rainy days which was very handy. The hotel room had all the amenities we needed and was perfect for our family for our 4 night stay. We would stay here again.

The hotel is in a great area, quiet even though it's very close to Kaminarimon. There are plenty of restaurants with great food in the area. The room itself is very small, with not much space to move at all. Definitely would be difficult to move around if you have a large luggage. However, the bed is very comfortable. One minor inconvenience is that there is only one elevator in the hotel, used by both staff and guests. It can sometimes be a bit of a wait to get the elevator.

Great location in Asakusa. Walkable to Kaminarimon and other areas. A super market is nearby and so close to many restaurants and stores. We enjoyed our stay there.
