Excellent property - very close to Tanukikoji Street and shopping area. Tons of restaurants and shops nearby . Also close to Love Neko (Cat Cafe) and Sapporo Tower/Odori Park. The hot baths upstairs were wonderful -- the food was delicious -- the customer service was superb -- very helpful staff -- the money exchange machine in the lobby was so convenient. The front desk staff helped me get a taxi when needed. I enjoyed everything about this hotel. Awesome room -- fantastic bed -- nice area - great food - very quiet room. I stayed here for a week and LOVED every minute. Just a few downfalls: No dinner at the hotel -- but lots of dinner places nearby -- I recommend Mel's Diner right across the street. I ate there twice in one week. The taco/fried shrimp and cucumber salad were amazing. (if you want something outside of the typical Japanese food menu). When I caught the bus to the airport -- there was a line -- and I had to wait for the second bus. Make sure you get to the airport bus stop near the hotel SUPER EARLY -- so that you don't miss your plane. :)

Pros: Great location – within walking distance to most shopping districts and malls. Convenient – surrounded by plenty of eateries, making dining options easy and varied. Room variety – offers triple rooms, which is great for groups or families. Amenities – toiletries are available directly at the hotel lobby, which is handy. Cleanliness – room was tidy and well-maintained. Cons: Housekeeping during my 6-day stay was only done twice, which felt infrequent. The rubbish bins in both the room and bathroom were very small, making it hard to store even 2–3 days’ worth of rubbish. The triple room was quite dim, with limited mirrors, which made makeup application inconvenient for ladies. No free late checkout – extra 2,000 yen per hour (maximum 2 hours till 1 PM), which felt pricey and restrictive. Overall: Granbell Hotel is a great choice for its location, convenience, and room options, but could improve on housekeeping frequency, room lighting, and late checkout policy.

I didn’t know what to expect as most of the hotels were fully booked for the Snow Festival. I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel was close to Odori Park for the snow sculptures. It’s steps away from Tanukikoji shopping street and easy access to underground shopping mall hence to Susukino for the ice sculptures. There are multiple convenient shops close by. Subways are accessible via the underground shopping mall. It’s a bit of a walk from Sapporo Station in the snow so we took a taxi that cost 1670 yen. If you don’t have a lot of luggage, can definitely walk underground from Sapporo station and exit on Tanukikoji street (outside Mega Don Quixote) then walk west to get to the hotel. Staff were friendly, helpful and fast with their service. Would definitely recommend!!! 😊

I picked this hotel for its convenient location and their on-site rooftop onsen. All of the hotels that I was looking at in Sapporo were fully booked for my Feb dates. The room is basic but clean, slightly better than a business hotel. Check out is 11am and any extension is ¥2000/hour. No in-room air purifier. The amentities in the onsen are basic. Staff are very efficient and professional.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast choices were pretty limited. The onsen was a nice perk. They provide a bathrobe so you can go to tye onsen wearing it. Room was cramped but it was expected. There is an izakaya across the street which was great.

Granbell Sapporo is a very nice hotel. Lovely indoor and outdoor spa with nice ambiance. Excellent breakfast buffet. Conveniently close to the Tanukikoji covered shopping street, which runs for blocks and has all sorts of restaurants (highly recommended the Bistro) and shops. The only minor issue is that our room size did not really have space for our bags, so if you have big bags, consider that.

The only complaint I have is that I didn’t see that tattoos weren’t allowed in the hotel spa. If I did see that, I probably wouldn’t have booked. But that’s a problem specific for my lifestyle so take it as you will. Overall though, I would suggest it because of the area. Lots of food options and big and small shopping experiences.

Overall very nice stay at Hotel Granbell Sapporo! The hotel was very nice and clean with friendly staff who are always willing to help for even the smallest tasks, like helping me with my sim card. Its a little further walk from some of the main market and food areas, but for the price, it has a very nice onsen, that you should definitely take advantage of if you come here and get some relaxation! I would definitely recommend coming here if you are able to take advantage of the amenities. Would depend on what your overall plans for your trip are.

Stayed one week during Snow and Ice Festival. Location great. Lots of restaurants nearby. Recommend eating outside of hotel. Very clean. Onsen wonderful. No dresser for clothes or closet. Request luggage rack and extra hangers.

A great hotel, if you don’t mind the 15 minutes walk from train station. Otherwise it’s in an Ideal location. Very walkable, great service. All staff’s speak English. And the buffet breakfast is a must.

Everything was impeccably clean and tidy. The women's public bath on the top floor was very nice with both indoor and outdoor tubs. Only complaint is that the bed was incredibly firm, too firm for my spoiled American back. Lovely in every other way!

Great hotel with nice public bath. Rooms are very small with no storage space and no closet. There was no space to open 2 suitcases in the room.
