We stayed during a construction period and experienced zero issues with noise, staff was extra helpful and accommodating as well. Highly recommend staying here if you are in Osaka. 5 minutes from the station and major shopping areas cannot beat it.

We really liked this hotel. We stayed at a variety of hotels in Japan which we usually pick for location and access. This one close to subway which made it easy to get around and a nice mall just down the street with lots of eating options. The hotel had an old world charm and a European feel. We were on the 13th floor which was extremely quiet. It was lovely to be able to open a window to the courtyard and the option for dimming lamp lighting gave it a cozy feel in the evening. The bathroom was large with lots of counter space. A little room table and chairs nice for coffee break. Staff replenished slippers, pajamas, towels and water daily. Breakfast was amazing and staff fabulous.

The room was excellently cleaned everyday, towels were replaced daily including the sheets, all the staff were very polite and helpful, I love the hospitality of the Japanese people. The breakfast buffet was really good with lots of choices. The air conditioning in the room was excellent. The location of the hotel is excellent, just a minute walk to the Umeda JR train station and the mall is right beside the train station, lots of choices to eat, cafe, restaurants, the corner pizza serves yummy pizza and other stuff. I would definitely stay at Hotel Monterey Osaka again on my next visit to Japan.

European themed hotel with an adjoining wedding chapel - very quaint. The breakfast is served in grand banqueting rooms and has a brilliant selection of both western and Japanese food - not disappointed at all. The only let down was the internet connection which was erratic and this may be due to the renovation works nearby?

This hotel must cater to a majority of Japanese business men more so than international tourists. The majority of room’s printed material included limited English, but the functionality of the room was in Japanese. That made using heat and air temp a guessing game. At least with brute force the window can be opened. But very dertrimental is the main lighting system. There are no main light switches to turn off overhead lighting while the room card is in use. After night one with ceiling lights fully ablaze I got reception to come to the room and show me. It turns out there is a tiny plastic button on the false front of the bedside table. All that anguish could have been avoided with a simple information sheet with check in. The building itself is having exterior cladding work and is wrapped in plastic with construction noise. The interior is a stomach turning ultra kitch take on Viennese decor. So if you like a themed hotel you’ll love it. If not book an APA. The main entrance is confusing. It is at the rear of the building directly facing the rail lines. (Moderately noisy). There are 2 vehicle driveways guests must enter, but the confusion is in having to wade through delivery vans, construction trucks and workers, construction material, and parked cars removed from the elevator for owner pickup. The whole vibe is a mini hell of darkness and fume stench. Even the main entrance is hidden. One night a stranger knocked on my door. The only good point: train station proximity.

The hotel is a little aged and needs an uplift. The staff are amazing though which really makes up for a lot of this. It was about a 5-10min walk to the train station which was convenient. There was a 7-11 about 5 mins away which is quite far considering other places.

Only booked this because I needed to stay close to train station and it’s extremely walkable and closed. You can get to the hotel without leaving the station but it was extremely confusing. Room was clean and staff were helpful. Also very close to airport bus which is also why I booked

Poor views. Scaffolding all around building. Building under construction. Located right next to train tracks. No breakfast. Coffee and tea only available in room. Ok but not great.

The hotel is a little aged and needs an uplift. The staff are amazing though which really makes up for a lot of this. It was about a 5-10min walk to the train station which was convenient. There was a 7-11 about 5 mins away which is quite far considering other places.
