You don't need to leave the train station when the weather is bad. You can find limited dining options in the station. Hotel is connected to the station. Hotel is very convenient if you don't want to walk outside the station. I thought the Niigata station would have more to do at the train stations. Disappointed the station didn't have more shopping and restaurants.

Very convenient location that I recommend to anyone looking to spend 1-2 days in Niigata: the JR/subway station is close by so it doesn't take a lot of time to get out of the area. The room was neat, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. As for breakfast, it is definitely worth it! I'll certainly go back. Only minus was the humid smell in the hallway but the room smelled fresh.

The hotel is situated right next to the JR station & surounded by a 7eleven, Niigata specialized stores, a sake museum, a very good izakaya restaurant, a cafe & a shopping area just around the corner, extremely convenient. Our room was spacious & clean, they only provide the standard basic amenities, so ladies don't expect any extras like sets of sample facial products & bath salt, like some hotels of the same standard would provide nowadays.
