Minn Ueno

No front desk staff, no toothbrush and toothpaste and no other small accessories. Breakfast was too simple and poor compared to others for this price.

No one was at the front desk at most times. Had to go knock on the staff door otherwise you had a wait till they decide to come out. The carpet in the room smelled.

Minn Ueno was great for our first trip tobTokyo, 3 stops from Narita Int airport via Skyliner abt 45min, metro nearby and many eateries and shopping places. Room was spacious for our family of 5, bunk beds had plenty of room above the head, refrigerator was a plus even though we did not cook at all and did not use the stove. There were 4 washers and dryers but always occupied at night and early morning. ( everyone doing laundry before checking out)

Location was great. About a 10 minute walk from the shinkansen and centrally located to multiple JR lines within 10 minutes as well. Easy walking distance to Ueno, Ueno Park, Akihabara, and Asakusa. Hotel was clean and check in was simple since we did the pre-check in online. The room was clean and a great size for a family of four. Four beds, a sitting area, ample closet space, and a small kitchen all came in handy. As did the laundry in the lobby. Only downside was the beds were SUPER firm. Very uncomfortable for a side sleeper. Also, the pillows literally felt like they had wood chips in them and were also way too firm. Was teetering between a 3 and a 4 since the sleeping discomfort was so impactful to our four nights.

It was such a lovely hotel, clean and modern. Automated check in which was easy, but very friendly and helpful staff onsite so you never felt like no one was there. Great convenient location. We really enjoyed our stay!

The hotel was in a great location, was clean, and we had plenty of space in a room with bunk beds (two twin up and two larger beds down). The beds and pillows were comfortable. I would stay here again!

Check in: things are harder when youre exhausted! When i called for a question the remote person didnt have a clue. I subsequently used contactless reception at my next hotel and they did it much better! They could easily simplify the process and take away the stress. Its not like this hasnt been mentioned in previous reviews. Accommodation. Its small and theyve done a great job of making the best of the space. It waa everything we needed. Laundry was great. Shower and toiletries great. Location fantastic!! Very clean. Absolutely would recommend, just let themselves down with the check in.

The apartment was modern and extremely clean, super convenient to have a refrigerator in the room. Location was superb - although in the middle of the city, it is on a side street where it was very quiet, and a 5 minute walk from Ueno Park subway stop. Check-in and check-out was automated using QR codes so we did not meet staff (we had no issues/reason to call them). Highly recommend!

While the hotel was nice and the area good, there was no one at the front desk which made checkin and dealing with items very difficult. There was a virtual agent that you interacted with on your screen which added unnecessary friction in dealing with items - like shipping luggage or dealing with room issues. Seemed like low value service.

The room is big enough for a family of four. We have plenty of space available, even with our 10 pieces of luggage. Everything is close by. Conbini is next street; the train station is less than a 5-min walk, the shopping market is just 7 mins, and Ueno Park is so close—a lot of restaurants in the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The room is clean and very spacious for Japanese hotel. We are on a family trip and had good rest in the hotel. However, this hotel relies heavily on LINE/face call when you wish to connect with the front desk. This might be an inconvenient for some guests. The luggage store area is very very small and when it’s full you just leave it in the lobby. I understand the hotel is not responsible for our personal belongs, but can at least provide a rope and lock to tide the luggages together when leaving it in lobby, better than just leaving there. The hotel staff is pretty arrogant about it when I mentioned that I will leave a comment about that. Otherwise, this hotel is not bad. Location is good.

The breakfast felt more like lunch, pizza pockets and ham and cheese sandwiches. If I would have known the selection I would have not paid for the breakfast, we ended up at family mart or 7/11 each morning. The room was clean at the beginning and was supposed to be cleaned on our 4th day but it never was which was very disappointing. The hotel itself was great, room was spacious and all laid out, beds were comfortable, amenities were good - luggage storage, vending machine, laundry, dishes in the room, bath products. Ubers were only a minute or 2 away which made it very easy to get around. Also super close to a ton of great restaurants and the train station. 30 min from Disney. Over all would definitely recommend for a family and would stay again.

Food options for families with 2+ kids, close to transport and Ueno food options. Room could do with a toaster for making breakfasts
