How to go to Ryogoku View Hotel from Airport

Navigating from the airport to your hotel can be a bit daunting, but don't worry, we've got you covered. Here's a breakdown of how to get to Ryogoku View Hotel with ease, ensuring a smooth hotel transfer. Consider these options for your transfer from airport to hotel:
  • Taxi (Most Direct):

A taxi is the most straightforward option, taking you directly from the airport to the hotel. However, it's also the most expensive. Expect a fare of around ¥15,000 - ¥20,000 (SGD 160 - SGD 215) and a journey time of about 60-90 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • Limousine Bus (Comfortable and Convenient):

The Airport Limousine Bus offers a comfortable and relatively hassle-free transfer. It stops directly at several major hotels in Tokyo, though not directly at Ryogoku View Hotel. You'll need to transfer at Tokyo Station. The bus costs around ¥3,200 (SGD 34) and takes about 90-120 minutes, including the transfer.
  • Narita Express (N'EX) and Train (Efficient):

The Narita Express train takes you from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station. From Tokyo Station, you can transfer to the JR Sobu Line to Ryogoku Station, which is a short walk from the hotel. The N'EX costs around ¥3,070 (SGD 33) and the JR Sobu Line is around ¥200 (SGD 2.15). The total journey time is approximately 90 minutes.
  • Keisei Skyliner and Train (Fastest):

The Keisei Skyliner is a high-speed train that runs from Narita Airport to Ueno Station. From Ueno, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line to Akihabara Station, then change to the JR Sobu Line to Ryogoku Station. The Skyliner costs around ¥2,570 (SGD 27.50), and the local train is around ¥200 (SGD 2.15). This is often the fastest option, taking around 60-75 minutes.
  • Local Train (Most Affordable):

While the slowest option, taking local trains is the most budget-friendly. Take the Keisei Line from Narita Airport to Aoto Station, then transfer to the Toei Asakusa Line to Ryogoku Station. The journey takes around 2 hours and costs approximately ¥1,200 (SGD 13).

Tips:

For the most convenient route, consider the Keisei Skyliner to Ueno, then transfer to the JR lines to Ryogoku. This balances speed and cost effectively. If you're on a tight budget, the local train is your best bet, but be prepared for a longer journey.

The best out of 3 hotels that I have stayed in Tokyo! Location: best. JR right beside. Bustop in front. Cafes, restaurants, konbinis and supermarkets line the street. Travelled as family of 7, we booked 3 rooms. There were 2 machines at the reception for check-in. Courteous reception staff assisted in the process. We were anxious about our early morning flight out. They helped to check the rates for taxi service but we ended up with alternative arrangements. Where basic English lacked, they used translating device from mobile phone and it was sufficient. Rooms: good. Enjoyed the balconies. Being at higher floor, all felt minimal to no noise from the trains with it closed. Slept well. Bed comfy and pillows, wonderful.Top part of the pillows were soft, there was buckwheat underneath. Fully equipped toilet. Our tallest family member was 185cm and toilet to us was good sized. Everything was within arms reach. Even equppied with deodorizer spray (for room and fabric), shoe brush and shoe horn! If we hung Do Not Disturb, they would place a note to inform that they did not enter the room that day and offered eco cleaning where bed linens will not be replaced but they would vacuum and replace towels. That to me is crafted service, assurance to security and upholding integrity. On our last night, we experienced M3 earthquake tremors. Staying on a higher floor, we felt rooms sway but everyone was ok. It made me appreciate having a manned, 24hr reception even more.

The front desk was especially helpful despite the language hurdle (we communicated through Google translator as what most of Tokyo, if not the whole of Japan, do...no biggie...will learn communicating in Japanese next visit!) in checking in/out and went out of their way in trying to book a taxi to Narita airport for our last day. Rooms were cosy in spite of the size, excellent hot shower and bath especially during this time of the year! Very considerate housekeeping team (they would leave a notice at the door as a reminder that your room is not done for the day if you choose Do Not Disturb). Hotel is located at the heart of Ryogoku literally a few steps aways from Ryogoku JR Station, many restaurants and Konbini! Also, just next to the Ryogoku Kokugikan Sumo Arena and the beautiful Sumida River! A very few stations aways (less than 5) from Akihabara and Tokyo Central! Took us less than an hour to Tokyo Disneyland! Will definitely head there again for the next trip to Tokyo!

3 of us stayed in one room in this hotel and it was a good experience! They had a room that had two twin beds and a sofa that was made into a bed and it was good for what we were looking for. The staff was great and helpful with the check in and check out process and whatever other questions we had. The proximity to the station and the hotel is really the selling point as it’s only a few steps to Ryogoku Station and from there 2 stops away from Akihabara and it’s well connected to other spots in Tokyo as well. Overall, it’s a good hotel that’s close to the station and has restaurants and convenience stores close by to get food and snacks whenever you want.

This Hotel is great for traveling by subway. It is so close to the station that it is a wonderful way to start learning how to use the subway. Helpful, welcoming front desk and good luggage check area.
