This was a very economical stay in a very nice property. The room was spacious and had lots of extras like snacks, a hot water urn for tea, a fridge and all the toiletries you'd expect. The view was very good from my room! The futon was already set up when I arrived, which was appreciated for a rest before dinner. As with others I'd say it's a bit dated but that doesn't detract from the stay. Lots of additional amenities on site but not all were open due to the coronavirus. These included a bar, cafe, karaoke room and games arcade. The outdoor onsen was lovely, and not too hot, which they often are! The grounds are also beautiful to walk around. Breakfast in the morning was small but quite a good selection of different Japanese and Western choices. The crayfish miso soup is worth a try! The one minor negative point is that they offer a shuttle bus to and from Toba station because the ryokan is up a hill, but they don't advertise this so it was a long walk up there to check in! Otherwise a very pleasant stay!

It was so relaxing and everyone was so nice. I loved my outdoor soaking tub! I ended up walking all the way there not knowing that there was a shuttle service. I would say that it’s not very English speaking friendly, most of the flyers and what not in the room were all in kanji (but it didn’t bother me) I will for sure be recommending this hotel!

on a route finding trip for new motorbike tours and the hotel was very centrally located, just 2 miles to the entrance of the famous curving road Ise-Shima Skyline as well as on the Pearl Road to Shima. The hotel itself is in an older yet well maintained building, with beautiful hot springs and almost every room has a direct view of the Pacific Ocean. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful and made the stay really worthwile. Toba has the Mikimoto Pearl Center and Island with the female pearl divers and the distance to the world famous Ise Jingu is also only around 20 kms, so lots of things along the Pacific to explore.

I stayed (alone) in the family room for 7. It was very spacious for me being a solo traveler. The room had a nice, calming view but the rooms could use some updating... the carpet was full of stains and aged. Futon was not very comfortable. (Hotel staff came unexpectedly to set it up for me) The breakfast and wonderful open air onsen were the best parts of this place. I would stay again.

This was a very lovely hotel. It looks like it had seen better days, but the city of Toba also looked like that. I would stay here again; I would also send other people this way as well. Also, this is a Japanese hotel; they lay out your bed on the tatami floor! I found I was slightly allergic to the tatami, but it is a fun change from the typical western hotels I get at home in the US

The staff are lovely with great service and the view from the dining hall overlooking the water is beautiful. The breakfast is decent, with a few western options for picky children. The miso soup is excellent. The public outdoor bath was small but the ambiance is very relaxing. The shuttle is convenient to the station and will drop you off near-ish the aquarium as well. The building is old and very dated, but that was part of its charm, and many other places in Toba are the same. The only disappointment was that only one shutter out of four for the in-room outdoor bath could open, as they are in a state of rot and disrepair and one of them was about to fall apart. The larger rooms looked generally nicer and better tended, however, so it might have just been my room. Overall would love to come back with my daughter, as it was a nice stay and there are amenities for children on-site.

on a route finding trip for new motorbike tours and the hotel was very centrally located, just 2 miles to the entrance of the famous curving road Ise-Shima Skyline as well as on the Pearl Road to Shima.

Good for a family size of five in a tatami room with onsen facility. But not value for money for the condition of hotel which is quite run down.
