Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu

Located in an amazing spot for seeing Shibuya and doing day trips along the Ginza line.

This hotel is perfectly placed in the hub of the action in Shibuya. Most things are in walking distance, particularly the night life. Was a bit difficult to find when we first arrived by train, signage is a bit small and inconspicuous. But the check in counter is on the 5th floor. Service and staff are top notch. We booked 2 michellin restaurants through the front desk. If i came back, this is where i want to be.

The rooms were a little outdated but you can’t beat the location. I had a great view of Shibuya Crossing right from my window.

We loved the bus service to the airport. It made our last day in Tokyo a breeze! The front desk staff was top notch when it came to checking us into our room and providing dining recommendations. We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Excel and the view from our room was spectacular!

Pros - the staff. Best thing hands down about this hotel. I messed up and completely missed one day of hotels during our entire trip (bouncing between a couple locations). I was confused with what happened and what I did. I wasn’t sure if we left Kyoto a day early or if I mixed up what days we were in Tokyo. I was trying to figure out what to do with the clerk. I canceled one Expedia booking and got refunded and rebooked for an extra night. The clerk helping us originally told us it would be roughly 800 for one night. We asked for a moment while we figured it out. I ended up rebooking through Expedia for two nights and just got a smaller room and it was roughly 800. The clerk then up upgrading our our standard two twin room to a corner two full size room on the 23 floor overlooking Shibuya crossing. It was absolutely beautiful. I cried at their hospitality, kindness, and patience with me while I figured out my mess up. My girls loved sitting at the window and just watching the people and sunset. The rooms are beautiful and larger than what we’ve had in Japan. I wish I got his name, he was amazing and I just want to say thank you one more time for the beautiful memories he gave us. The only cons, beds are not as comfortable as the ones we stayed at Kyoto. Also, the laundry machines are old and don’t work well. Clothes didn’t come out very clean from the washer and wouldn’t dry in the dryer on the 10th floor. After 800 yen, I gave up and hung them up.

The hotel is in the heart of shibuya. You can see the Shibuya Crossing in the elevator. The staffs are really nice and helpful. The restroom is a little. It outdated. But all in all we had a really good experience.and we will definitely be back and stay in the hotel.

We had an amazing stay. The hotel is very clean, quiet and centralized to everything everywhere we needed to go. I would return to this hotel.

The room was clean & comfortable. Great view of Shibuya crossing. However, the aircon is not very strong, room was warm eventhough the aircon was set to lowest temp & high fan speed.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and functional, plus the location to sights and public transportation is great. The hotel is very quiet even though it is close to the action. We had a room on the 24th floor with a view of the scramble crossing, which we loved. We appreciated being able to easily ask for towels/garbage to be changed or for our room to be made up. We used the laundry service and it met our needs. If we were to stay in Shibuya again we would not hesitate to stay here.
