ibis Luxembourg Sud

This has to be one of the most tired Ibis hotels left in Europe. Its the design I remember from 20 years ago... and the scruffy state suggest its even older. Surly reception check in, drunk guys in the bar, and everything is tired to be polite. The bed is itchy, the dust trapped at the edge of not only the room but every corridor and lift not a nice sight. Long overdue a refurb and some training at this one. Picked because it was convenient for a roadtrip, but the quality of sleep was so poor I am dreading the long drive back to UK today, Avoid if you can.

Rooms are ok and warm. The staff are not very friendly. Would not supply any info about eating possibilities in the local village.

Call and good sound proof room

Disgusting carpet in the not clean room, weird bathroom. Conveniently located but that’s about the only positive. The rooms are inexpensive but the restaurant prices are insanely expensive for lousy food, my lasagna was something I’d have expected to get on an airplane in economy but cost 26 euros (which was about average for a main course).

A quick one night stat. Room was comfortable and clean.

One of only 2 hotels during my travels in Belgium with A/C. The room was fine and the staff professional. Would stay here again when in the area. Thank you for a most enjoyable experience.

This is a travelers' hotel. It is as advertised. We drove back into the city on a Saturday, and it was convenient. The staff was kind, and there are a few options nearby for dining, but we chose to eat in that evening. Overall, a good stay.

Not a bad budget hotel. From the bus stop you had to walk along the road, it was dangerous. There was no noise from the street, although close to the road.

Our stay was Sat 26 Oct - 27 Oct not as above! A very convenient overnight stay on our way home from Southern Germany. Comfortable, clean and friendly. Two comments made about our overnight stay on our way to South Germany seemed to have been dealt with as we had the chance of an evening meal on arrival and fruit at breakfast the next day. We will stay there again next year as we have done for the past 10 or more years.

A good stay, only a short drive to Luxembourg City.

Handy stopover on way to Luxemburg

We have stayed at this hotel for over night on a long journey. It is not the same as it was, There used to be an evening meal service aviilable, but not no longer, just for coach parties. As usual I booked a no smoking room, but last night having already pre-registered on line, give the room key and told the room was no smoking. A notice was left on the bed indicating so, BUT smoking had been prevalent inthe room for sometime. We open the window and turned the fan on to max. By the time of our return from dinner elsewhere, the smell was not so prevalent. I suspect that the room and possibly others had been classified As No Smoking without any attention to the decor which still resting smoke odour. We would probably use the hotel if making the same family visit journey again, - but then perhaps not!

The male receptionist was in the office talking on the phone visible to us us to him but gave no acknowledgement. When eventually he came to the desk he stayed speaking on the phone. He was far from courteous and gave no information about how to proceed to our using the lift. Really, really could have done better as a receptionist. Otherwise mych of the hotel was as we have come to used to from numerous overnight stays at this IBIS. No evening restaurant or bar service last night either.

The location was terrible. on a freeway far from the city. 80 euros to get to city. Bath room on raised platform very trip hazzard. Lighting poor. Good place for luggage. Large window that oopened. Breakfast 16 euros and very marginal.

No public transportation.

Staff was not there waiting for a while at reception then someone came out he was unprofessional

Gross hotel.

This is a nice hotel, within walking distance to the pretty town of Bettembourg where you can easily catch free public transportation into Luxembourg City.
