El Cid La Ceiba Beach Hotel

First off, on expedia website and booking it was advertised as cancun and or close proximity to cancun. That was very far from the truth. I also specifically put in the search filter all inclusive resort and booked under the impression that was what i would've received upon arriving. Never have had a problem with booking on expedia it usually is what is posted on the site. Did research beforehand to just to be sure logistics for arrival to find out the hotel because to me it should not be listed under the resort title was 4 hours away by a bus ride a train ride and a taxi ride to get to the hotel $300 usd later. No all inclusive amenities dated then be told to get upgraded to inclusive not all is $280usd per day more to get that consistently as i read in the reviews the truth hid in the website way down. It my wife's birthday and our anniversary new year's eve no activities the town shuts down after the cruise ships leave and it's n.y.e as well ghost town nothing but wind moving. I paid for 7 days no refund or customer service for what is going on. Room is hard Murphys bed damp everywhere the staff changed the shower curtain tried to make it right. Front desk and other staff not accommodating at all! The security guard was cool and helpful. We left 5 days early went to the riu resort and had an amazing experience. Do not go to el cied hotel. Side eyeing expedia website too. It was somewhat my fault not being more informed. I usually try to make the most or don't do reviews. B

Staff and property are amazing. Manager Francisco is fantastic At making you feel like family. Bellboy Armando is very good at answering questions and helping you find everything you need to have a memorable vacation. We are so happy with your property we have already booked our next stay in 3 months. Happy New Year.

Room was cleaned perfectly, Roger, activities director was fun and kept things lively for all ages. The SCUBA shack was amazing. Juan Carlos was very helpful and friendly, Johnathan the Divemaster was vigilant and safe and knew the reefs inside and out.

Great staff and food.

Food was okay. Dive shop wasn’t very helpful so I used another dive shop.

We have stayed at 3 different properties in Cozumel. Park Royal: nice room but terrible food. Hotel Cozumel: room was dated but comfortable and Good Food. El CID: The best! The room was clean and comfortable. The food was great (I always stick to fish, chicken, or pork in Mexico as a rule, no beef.) Every plate of food I had was fantastic. The service was great. Bed was comfy and the snorkeling was fantastic! I highly recommend El CID.

The property and Room needed general maintenance. The curtain didn't close all the way. The shower head was faulty. The bathroom faucet only had hot water, which became unsafe pretty fast. Front door wouldn't properly close unless you slammed it. Food was hit or miss at the restaurant as well as the wait staff. Some were above and beyond others were lacking.

This property is next to the cruise ship port, perfect for business travelers visiting the ports. A bit out dated decor but really nice staff, clean, and restaurant has good food. Area doesn’t have much to do since it’s not located on a real beach front area or the main town of Cozumel. It works for a quick trip and/or Business trip

Loved this property with all the amenities, ie pool, beach, ocean swim area. Stall was courteous and helpful. Perfectly located next to cruise ship harbor where we met friends who were sailing.

Good snorkeling on property. Room outdated and musty smelling

We loved this property, it was perfect for our family of four.

Although their website said WiFi for 4 devices we had to fight to get that. Twice it was lost and we had to get new passwords. Asked us to come to the front desk. We were always left wondering if we would have a face cloth or hand towel each day. They would bring us one, but just replace what you take out.

We really enjoy staying at El Cid/La Ceiba in Cozumel. Have been staying there since 2001 almost every year. Staff is always friendly and helpful, food is great and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. We have stayed at a few other places throughout the years, but no one else makes us feel like we’re home when we bisit Cozumel.

When we went to check in we were told that we were being sent to another hotel because the room we had booked had broken pipes or something (lost in translation). The other hotel was ok but we did not get the ocean view we booked and had to rent another taxi to get to our excursion the next day which we would have just walked to. The staff was nice but it was inconvenient and cost us another ride.

The views and outdoor amenities are awesome. The room is rather bland and dated but still has great views.

The hotel staff accommodated our request to put us in the north section of the hotel. We visit often and they remember us and make us feel at home. This property is very convenient for us to get to Marina Fonatur

The staff was really friendly and welcoming . The aesthetic of the hotel and area was beautiful and well put together. Lots of shopping options

A very nice place to be, especially with your family, the services are good and the staffs are very friendly and polite..I enjoyed the food as well.
