This was our second visit to Quaryati and we will definitely be returning again. A beautiful oasis of calm and tranquility, it's the perfect place to relax and recharge. The setting and beautiful grounds are complemented by the hardworking and friendly staff, and Françoise, the owner's warm welcome. They accommodated my birthday during our stay with a special breakfast, and a cake during our evening meal. There is a free daily shuttle to Marrakech, so you can combine a peaceful getaway with time sightseeing and haggling in the souks. Having stayed solely in riads in the Medina on my first trip to Marrakech, staying at Quaryati is the best of both worlds. We went into the city once during this trip and fun though it was, it was lovely to get back out into the countryside afterwards. We went specifically to relax, enjoy the Moroccan sunshine and lounge by the pool, but Quaryati is equally a good base for many daytrips, to the Atlas Mountains, the desert or the coast. There is a hammam on site, and I thoroughly recommend trying a hammam and a massage, I feltamazingly relaxed after trying out both. The food is fantastic, a well executed Moroccan-French fusion, and the wine and 3 course evening meals were so good that plenty of walking around the countryside and swimming were required to offset them. Bikes can also be borrowed. I love this place. I didn't want to come home and can't wait to go back.

It was the second time we have been here and I'm sure we'll be back. Francois and her staff are excellent-nothing is too much trouble. It's a lovely hotel in a very secluded location, perfect for relaxing and very safe for single travellers. The food and drink is good, rooms extremely clean and the whole feel very friendly and comfortable.

The hotel was just as described, quiet, peaceful with stunning views over the Atlas Mountains. The hotel staff was always happy and willing to help. Francoise was very welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere was overall relaxed and you felt at home. The only things that need a little more service are the bicycles as the closest villages are 5km away. If you are adventurous and would like to explore the area with better bicycles you can get easier through the small roads that lead you to the towns of Sidi Abdellah and Ourika otherwise you need to walk or rent a taxi, car. The food was nice and there are also available gluten free meals, breakfast which helped in my stay. I would surely recommend this place to anyone wanting some days away from big cities and a big breath into the Atlas mountains.

Mint tea on arrival, along with a pleasant welcome. Throughout the service was efficient and somehow, quietly relaxed. At first glance the dinner menu seemed limited however, changed each evening and the dishes we had were very good, generous portions too. Breakfast was consistently varied and more than adequate. The weather for our stay was disappointing and limited our use of the excellent pool to nil! Spent several hours in front of the log fire, sometimes along with other guests, reading or chatting. The easy circular walk of the area was pleasant and locals seemed happy to see us. Would love to go back when it's not cold and raining! We left a bag in the taxi taking us to the airport, containing snacks for our journey home, a kindle and i pod. We emailed when we got home. The taxi driver had already dropped it back at Quaryati that evening without us asking! and Francoise organised for them to be sent back to us at home, which we were most grateful for.

Quaryati might not be the Ritz - it's up a bumpy dirt road in a semi-rural part of Marrakech, and rooms / amenities are minimalist (ie: not super duper luxe). Attitudes are (very) relaxed, and sometimes it can take a few minutes to find someone to help you with something. Food is minimalist with limited options, but so healthy, so fresh and local, and beautifully prepared. To us none of this was a negative. Quaryati might be the single most gorgeous and relaxing place I've ever been. You are treated like family, and mostly left to your own devices to lounge in the sun, sit by the pool, bike on dirt pathways amongst the goat herders, or have a glass of wine on the terrace (where the staff will kindly offer you a little plate of olives). The staff is very friendly and do everything to accomodate you (including food, which is always made incredibly fresh and from scratch). Francoise the owner is incredibly nice. the cats are affectionate, and peacocks roam freely. The place is stunningly beautiful, with rose bushes, olive trees, and beautiful foliage everywhere. It is the opposite of a tacky mega resort swarming with tourists. So if you want to be waited on hand and foot with the most luxurious rooms, this might not be your place. But if you want to be truly deeply relaxed, part of the family, and far away from the madding crowd in a tiny paradise, I would absolutely recommend Quaryati!

Very relaxing place with lovely gardens. Rooms very nice with comfortable beds. Food was excellent ate there every evening. Free shuttle to Marrakech leaving at 10am and back at 5pm was ample time to explore. Had a couple of days relaxing by the pool and walking from the hotel to see the local area. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

This ecolodge is simply one of the most beautiful and breathtaking places I have ever stayed. Francoise and her team's service is seamless, attentive and second to none. The grounds and views are divine and the tranquillity of the resort is like no other. You could easily spend your entire holiday at the resort and feel perfectly content. The attention to detail, willingness to go above and beyond their service and beautiful interior and exterior decor puts this resort at a 5 class, world class level in my books. The place to spend a holiday in Morocco for sure. Shuttles in to the Medina and organised trips into the Atlas Mountains ensure you get a full experience. Thank you Francoise to you and your team for making Christmas 2014 very special for Mya and I.

We stayed for two nights after staying in central Marrakech for 3 days. The staff at the hotel were able to book us a taxi from the city with no problem which was brilliant as it's quite out of the way, 5km down a winding track. Although we were late arriving (about 9pm), dinner was still being served which we were offered straight away. The food for all three meals of the day was absolutely wonderful and excellent sized portions. The room was lovely, remaining cool throughout the day which was a nice retreat from the heat. The only issue we had with the room however was a small invasion of rather large ants coming through one of the window frames, which we blocked up with tissue to stop anymore coming in (the only reason the room cleanliness and comfort are marked down). The pool area and gardens were also lovely and quiet (apart from the peacocks occasional squawk) with excellent views of the Atlas mountains.

Our stay comprised 7 days 20–27 December, the first time we had been away for Christmas since we were married back in the mists of last century. We had neither of us been to Maroc, nor even to Africa, and had no real idea what to expect. In the dark, Quaryati Lodge seemed a long, long way up a bumpy track from the main road but our cab driver (ordered ahead of time, a good idea) hung tough and we were relieved and delighted to arrive. It all made better sense the following morning. Our apartment was comfortable and spacious enough, the main building welcoming and stylish with its open log fire in the evening, the staff as helpful as could be, and the grounds a delight. The view from the roof puts the location into context, and at dusk the effect of the sun's last rays splashing the peaks of the snow-covered high Atlas to the SW quite spectacular Ours was pretty much a hideaway holiday and if this is what you're after, I cannot recommend it strongly enough. Even so, dinner on Christmas Eve, in the French style, was very jolly with several very different anglophone couples getting on famously. The daily navette to Marrakech is a useful service, but we visited only once, preferring poolside peacefulness. Daytime temps were as high as 23C but the water in the pool is cold...very cold! Our thanks to Françoise and her staff for a great holiday experience.

If you are looking to get away from it all and relax in natural and beautiful surroundings then this is just what you are looking for. A perfect break from the British winter. The staff are really friendly and our Berber room (which had wonderful views of the mountains and gardens) was cleaned every day. The room was more like a studio apartment. We slept with the doors open most nights and adopted a little resident cat which became a regular visitor. The pool was delightful as was the wildlife (except sometimes at night when it could be a bit noisy). We daily saw Swifts dipping into the pool, butterflies and bright red dragon fly. The animals were all so ridiculously healthy and happy it sometimes felt like being in a Walt Disney film. Francoise and her son were most accommodating and helped us hire cars, taxis, restaurant tables, massages, Hammams etc. We hired a car up to the Atlas mountains but recommend you use a guide. We visited Marrakech in the evening (too hot in the day). It was a wrench to leave but we would go back and would recommend it to both couples looking for a break and to families with young children. It was great to see children playing in such natural surroundings.

Very pretty and remote lodge, about 40mn by car from Marrakech. Half or full day excursions to various locations and outside sporting activities are organised for a fee but on site, there's nothing per se to do, except relax and swim in the pool. Room was very clean and typically decorated in simple Moroccan style. Bed very comfortable and bathroom simple but clean (standard toiletries offered except conditioner). Service on arrival very friendly. The owner will helpful with taxi booking prior to arrival: money well spent as the lodge is so remote and difficult of access. Breakfast was good with suitable choice of homemade breads, eggs, yoghurts, jams, fruit, cheese and tea/coffee + homemade juice. But, later on in the day and particularly in the evening, there was no staff at reception or around to ask about anything. It felt like we were the only guests around and the place had more of an unfamiliar home setting at this point than a 4-star hotel. Compared with breakfast, the dinner we had was only just average. The tagine was meatballs in a tomato sauce and didn’t have a particularly special Moroccan feel or taste to it. The lack of visible staff presence after a certain time in the day and the quality of dinner were the only two disappointing features about the place. The free shuttle to Marrakech at 10am was excellent. Overall, if you are after a quiet retreat, it’s great. Service overall should be more professional, not just very kind and friendly to match hotel rating.

We've chosen this hotel because I was very stressed and needed to relax. It was definitely a good choice. The place is beautiful and very quiet. You have a stunning view of the Atlas Mountains while enjoying the fresh air of the countryside. The ecolodge is wonderfully decorated mixing modern and traditional Moroccan styles. The food is delicious and made from scratch. My boyfriend and I are vegan so they prepared veggie tagines, couscous and Moroccan salads for us as well as Moroccan crepes without butter for breakfast. Most of the food comes from the farm and we were positively surprised to eat veggies with such a sweet taste. The olive oil is also delicious to eat with the homemade bread. The staff was very friendly as well as Françoise, the owner, who gave us some tips to make the most out of our holiday. There is a free shuttle/taxi service which drops you in Marrakech at 10am and picks you up at 5pm. The day in the Atlas Mountains was amazing and I would definitely recommend it. I appreciated the fact that Françoise was booking the taxis for the activities and all we had to do was to show up at the meeting point with everything set up for us. We stayed for a week at the end of March 2013 and the weather was amazing (27-31 degrees)! I really enjoyed relaxing by the pool, playing with the 6 or 7 cats living on the property and admiring the peacocks. If I ever return to Marrakech, I will definitely stay at Quaryati.

This place is lovely, very remote and good value. Great pool and good food in the restaurant and a good buffet breakfast. If you go there make sure you contact them well before and arrange transport from the airport with the hotel. The expedia address and phone number are not correct. Check the website of the hotel for the correct details. Pretty much everyone we met there had had problems getting a cab or driving there themselves there and contacting the owner. It is not easy to find and barely signposted. The communication from the staff is not great and you have to ask if you want to know something. Once you get past that its a beautiful, quiet and natural place to stay, which is actually only 30-40mins out of Marrakech. Take ear plugs the peacocks can be a bit loud.

Very nice and peaceful hotel with breathtaking views but food is on the expensive side and dinner service can be a bit slow. A couple of times, we had to wait one hour before being served our dinner. It's quite far from the city but there is a free shuttle from the hotel every day at a fixed time. Going to the city at the time you want would cost you 250 MAD one way.
