The location was very good, easy walk to some of the tourist sites, train station and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I didn’t like that smoking was allowed outside the rooms, guests sat on the stairs near my room smoking and talking at all times of day and night.

I stayed at this hotel and both times it was the same problem. When I arrived the receptionist told me that they couldn’t find my reservation. Being in a foreign country and having to deal with rooming problems in the middle of the night was not fun. Had to stay here twice because I was too late to cancel my second reservation after a bad first experience.

2. Location - Excellent, walking distance to shopping mall, pub and local restaurant & sule pagoda.
3. Staff - Very friendly and helpful
4. Room - Bad & old. The room have terrible & serious moldy smells, carpet is very old and dusty.

City Star is a nice hotel at a great location. The staff was the best, so friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable, only the carpet was a bit on the old and dirty side... Breakfast was good choice and quality. Would stay again.

Overall, I loved my stay. The only thing that made my stay unpleasant was the extremely slow wifi. The wifi would turn on and off throughout the day. When it was on, it was often painfully slow. I did talk to the front desk about this issue several times throughout my stay there. They would reboot the routers but the problems continued.
The service was amazing. The staff were incredible. I really enjoyed the breakfast options. My room was very clean and comfortable. If it weren't for the wifi issue, this would have been a perfect stay for me.

This was our second visit to Yangon and we stayed 4 nights in the City Star, mainly because of its location and price. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff professional and friendly. Breakfast was reasonable. There are good eating options, official money exchange and convenience stores close by. It is a short stroll to the Tourist Information Centre near Sule Pagoda. As we planned to travel onto Mawlamyine by train, a bonus for us is that the hotel is in easy walking distance to the Station.

Hotels's location is very covenient, within walking distance of China town the old town attractions, and st Mary's cathedral. The breakfast spread was good and the service, particularly the counter staff was excellent. The stay was marred however by a defective airconditioner in one of the rooms which necessitated a change after 3 days! At night there were dogs creating erie howling sounds throughout!

Hotel booked & paid through Wotif but when the four couples arrived, we were told that the owner had skipped through & they didn’t have any individual rooms for us for the first night but we would be fine for the 3 remaining nights. So we had to share a room & bathroom with another couple for the first night.....lucky we knew each other! Rooms were okay for the price and breakfast was limited. Staff were excellent & very helpful.
