Lysebu Hotel

The location and facilities - particularly the restaurant, pool, sauna and outdoor spaces - were perfect for us to unwind and slow down in our short break away from the city. The hotel was very responsive before our arrival, helping to secure restaurant bookings for two dinners and lunch. Our first dinner booking wasn’t included on the list at the restaurant, so we did have to wait a little longer than expected to be seated and served. Probably because this flustered the staff a little, we also weren’t given the wine list with our menus. But when we were able to order and eat, both the food and wine were excellent. While we had been looking forward to the smørbrød, we ultimately skipped our initial plan to have lunch here, in favour of a trip to Holmenkollen. Not only were the front desk staff happy to accept this last-minute change (just a couple of hours before our booking), they also demonstrated their excellent knowledge of the area with some great tips for our visit to the ski jumps. Our second dinner was the Sunday platter, which we thoroughly enjoyed in the relaxed setting of the terrace, soaking up the evening sunshine. Our junior suite was clean, spacious and comfortable. The only real negative for me was the lack of a kettle, although so many hotels seem not to offer one these days.

This hotel is overall, a very good hotel. The rooms are very nice, maybe a little small, but very clean and a very native Norwegian Forest look. The breakfast was average, but the best thing about this hotel was the staff. They were so helpful with us planning our days, they even gave us a quick tour of the area. I will choose to stay in this hotel again when I go to Oslo next time.

Good for relaxing for nature lovers and off course in winter for ski lovers..

The view was amazing & they made two special meals to accommodate our special dinning needs. The food was as good as the view.

Great Historical Hotel. We really enjoyed it. Be aware that is not in the city center. But on wonderful location for nature lovers.

It’s an historical property and it’s charm & decoration are superb. Don’t expect a normal hotel. If you like History, Art & Details: This is the place for you. Be aware that it’s not locate in the city center but in the outskirts. But the place and its views are part of the fun.

It was in an interesting spot (near the 1952 Winter Olympics area). A lot awkward steps. Overall it was nice, clean, and breakfast was good.

Nice hotel with beautiful views across Oslo. Only downside is a little far from the main city but you get beautiful views in return.

This hotel was utterly amazing!! We arrived on the last day the hotel was open for the season but you would never have known it based on the high level of customer service that we received!! We arrived late afternoon and the concierge/front desk person was incredibly friendly and personable!! He asked if we would like reservations for the restaurant but we had planned on heading into the city. He suggested that we go get situated in our room which they had upgraded to a junior suite and then come back to the front desk for some tips about the city. He spent 30 minutes with us helping us find local spots to eat at and to sightsee!!! He was just amazing! We plan on returning to this hotel at our first opportunity!! All the staff members were very friendly and the atmosphere was just incomparable!! Everything was perfect!! But the concierge/front desk person was just the cherry on top!! Thank you Kit for making our stay one we will never forget!!
