This was third time we used this hotel, and the last one. Hotel/hostel is placed in convenient location, easy access to the center and peaceful enough. Convenient, cheap market underneath the hotel. I can’t remember from previous visits but there’s no beverages supplied, though we had two cups and a kettle. Not once in 5 days anyone came to check rubbish, towels, general tiding. No parking space available on arrival, we were told to hunt for it next day, no option to buy it today for the next day. I went to check out, as we needed parking, and miraculously there were two to be sold to the next guests!!! Lucky it was two spaces, otherwise I wouldn’t get any again. No internet, reported next day, we were told to wait for the engineer. We let them come in while we were away. One of the keys, we had to pay deposit for the second key, stopped working. Fixed. Staff members aren’t acknowledging anyone. They barely answer when guests say hello. This hotel was a bit cheaper than posh hotel in the centre. For this price I really would expect better service.

It's all about the staff, isn't it? Well, I stayed at this hotel for 7 full nights, and let me tell you, every single person on staff that week was amiable and helpful. I felt taken care of all week. The hotel was beautiful and all features in the clean, well-designed, comfortable, and spacious room were perfectly functional. I'm not an easy tourist to please. I called the receptionists several times daily, asking for information and for tasks to be performed (Call a taxi for me! on this date at this time! Give me a replacement key when I locked myself out of the room! Explain to me how the power supply to the room is controlled by my room key! Why doesn't the towel heater attached to the bathroom wall do anything when I activate it? ). And so on. I kept them busy all week. But the entire staff was always so kind, so patient with me, and so helpful, what more could a traveler want?

We chose the hotel for its closeness to the Centennial Hall (Hala Stulecia) where we were attending an event. The hall is less than a ten-minute walk away. On our first evening we ate in the hotel restaurant (named Jungle). This closes at 9pm (many more-central Wrocław eating places close at 10pm) but they served us meals when we showed up at the restaurant just before 8.30pm. Breakfast is provided in the restaurant too, but a very convenient supermarket in the ground floor of the building can be used for simple provision. We had a superior room on the first floor with a balcony area on the first floor. The balcony shares the outside area with that of the restaurant but is screened off with planters. The room itself and the bathroom were both large. Rather strangely, there was no dedicated wardrobe area to hang clothes (just a few small shelves outside the bathroom) despite there being plenty of space. There was room to bring in the two chairs and the round table from the balcony if the weather was to cold to be outside. Wifi was provided individually by room via the television and was perfectly adequate for web browsing and Youtube. Idiosyncratically, if you leave the television on the channel which tells you the Wifi details the television will switch itseld off after a while. For an uninterrupted connection you need to tune to another channel. The channels themselves contained hardly any content in English, although Polish-subtitled ancient movies were available.

ZOO is a nice property and well located for the Zoo and Centennial Hall, also east trams into town. The room was lovely, we had a balcony which was well proportioned. All good. But there were some annoying things that let ZOO down. 1. Internet access works only when the TV is turned on which was beyond annoying. 2. Only local TV and nothing in English, not even an international news channel. 3. Despite the fact it was obvious our room was ready, they were very stringent of a 3pm check-in, we arrived at 1pm. The clerk checking us in was about to give us our room and her colleague with glasses blocked her and said we needed to wait until 15:00. 4. They have no locked room for baggage. They were kind enough to let us put out bags behind the front desk but that did leave them on display and easy access for others if the clerk was helping someone else. 5. While efficient the staff were generally not very warm and my Polish colleague had to take over as English was poor. All of these were little annoyances that could be easily solved and improve what otherwise would be a lovely stay.
