Residencial Vale Formoso

The residency was in a very practical location and the staff were very kind and welcoming. Me and my fiancée had a great time.

This has to be the worst hotel I've stayed in Europe. I arrived past 9 in the evening ring the bell and I had to wait outside in the rain and cold for a good 10-15 minutes. I do not speak Portuguese or Spanish and the owners speak very little English - so communication throughout my stay was terrible. There is a strong smell of cat urine or poo in the common area and even my room. My room was not cleaned on my second day, no WIFI and there was a leak at the top of the shower which I reported - they only said it was a holiday and basically did nothing. The single room was too small - I am an average size asian guy and I had to squeeze myself in the toilet and shower. The room gets really really cold as well. I am trying to think of something good about this place but I can't think of anything.

The owners were super nice... a very elderly couple and their son. My room was basic but clean. They turned it over every day. The only thing was the common area had a strong smell from a cat, I think.

Excellent. Very clean and nice staff. Good location. Paul helped me check in he was very friendly. Room was nice clean and near to bus.

Beautiful place

Very friendly service. Room was small but clean, good bed and hot shower. In a quiet area about a half hour walk from the historic centre. Good restaurants, cafés and laundromats nearby. Basic but price is very good compared to downtown.

Clean room, but very small bathroom. Sr Jose and other staff are really helpful. Neighborhood is nice and safe.

Location is good, but the room was in a different building than the registration. It was wortn out and tired.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a little noisy because all of the floors are wood/tile so you can hear everyone entering and leaving the building, though the rooms are fairly quiet otherwise.

Great location and clean. Great place to explore Porto from. Would stay again.

Fantastic little hotel a bit off the beaten path near the FC Porto training center in Porto. The owner is fun and especially friendly to Americans and the rooms are quite clean. A good buy at 40% more expensive.

Okay for one night, but I wouldnt stay any longer than that. The staff was very nice, but the bed was awfull. The area was okay with a supermarket nearby. 40 min walk from the riviera with restaurants and souvenir shops.

Paid for a double bed in a double room ended up with a double bed in a room that you could not swing a cat in. No where to put clothes in, not one set of drawers or bedside cabinet to put clothes or any other small items in. Owners son needs education in mannerisms, very abrupt and outwardly hostile.

25 min walking from downtown, family owned hotel w very helpful and warm staff. Due to the low price I think this hotel is great, since the room was clean and normal condition and the hotel old but charming. I expected less due to the price. I had a pleasant stay.

Family run hotel, staff extremely polite. Hotel in good condition, the building itself is a bit old, but it looks nice inside. I had a double room with basic furniture and an OK bed, if you're looking for a budget accommodation you will be pleased. The kindness of the staff is a plus.

Guy at reception (looks like owner) don't really speaks English. Payment in cash only, had to go looking for a cash machine. Economy room is in basement with just a small window, probably better pay 5 euro extra for a better room. Towels and linens are not very clean.

Very central place, very helpful and friendly people. Rooms tidy and clean.
