Solar Do Castelo, a Lisbon Heritage Collection

Let me just start off by saying that this was a truly special stay. Staff absolutely wonderful, property is spectacular and it's truly a romantic type of vibe - besides, how often do you get to say you stayed in a castle or that you got to eat breakfast with Peacocks? That being said, please be advised that the property is all the way on the top of the castle grounds and is not accessible by uber. If you want to walk, get ready to get your steps in - 'it's all uphill from here' became our tag line when we were returning to the hotel each night after dinner or drinks. I would not recommend this property to anyone requiring special disability services unless you plan to take an official taxi every time you need to leave or return to the property. Staff will happily help you with ordering a cab but it does add up. All in all, we would definitely stay there again - it's really got that special something and all of the staff were truly wonderful. 10/10 for being such a unique experience and truly living up to it's expectations!

Super location and friendly, multilingual staff. The room was gorgeous and quiet (other than the peacocks). The patio was great for breakfast. Really fabulous.

Beautiful, unique property at the top of Alfama right next to the Castelo de Sao Jorge. Wonderful staff - kind and attentive and gorgeous property. We had the Petite room which didn't have a view but it was cozy and enough space. We especially loved the courtyard and the complimentary sparkling wine. A great place to unwind with the peacocks at the end of the day. Highly recommend not driving there there (only taxis and tour operators can get there) but the hotel provides an excellent service to pick you up. Recommended!
