Had a lovely stay at Hotel Maria, the staff were all lovely and welcoming, with excellent English. The location is great...10 min walk to the town square and some great pubs close by. The breakfast was a small but good selection of different items and I never left the breakfast room feeling hungry.

Shared bathroom and the wifi wouldn't work on my phone. The hotel itself was also just really eerie and a little creepy, always felt a little uneasy

There was a construction it was noise and the road narrow, the Belding is old no left to upstairs ( not good for older persons) because of that we didn't stay ,it's not recommended for Arab people and older one

Friendly, helpful staff, good location nearby the old town centre. Breakfast is good, parking is very convenient, room is spacious if a little odd with the shower recess being in the bedroom and not in the bathroom. The exterior and common areas of the hotel are showing signs of s aging and not wearing it too well but essentially it still meets all the basic requirements.

Staff friendly enough, cheap easy option for exploring Ostrava. Dated and tired decor. Poor soundproofing, could hear other guests snoring and being intimate from our room. Breakfast options basic but fine. Bread stale.

Overall the stay at Hotel Maria was excellent. The front staff were amicable and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. The only concern was parking. There are only 8 free slots behind the hotel and they were not always available. Limited street parking is available but you have to come back every two hours to "feed the meter" which makes sightseeing difficult. There was a nice parking garage nearby. We were told it would be about $10 USD to park each day, but it turned out to be about $15. The extra cost wasn't the issue as much as not having the correct amount of czk to pay.

There are two sections. A newer nicer one and an older sewage smelling one. We were put in the old section while friends stayed in the new. The beds in both were brutal. None of us slept well for the 10 days. The beds were hard and pillows were basically useless. The staff may be ok but very little to no English so it was difficult for us. Breakfast is pretty bad. The scrambled eggs went from runny to burnt. One day they were fine. Stale bread and a couple choices of cereal, meats and cheese. Found the location to be very good though. Quiet, near some parks and the tourist core. A few good restaurants nearby.
