The guest house was comfortable and suited us well. It is a short walk into town, so location was good. Breakfast was good - select your cooked options and buffet of cereals/toast etc. Parking in Oban is clearly difficult. You could park in the car park right next to the hostel, although you have to pay £9 a day.

Prime reason for trip was to Cruise on the paddle Steamer Waverley 3 trips. Danarle guest house was ideal for this as only 5 minute walk to North pier and 10 mins to railway pier and station Guest house was extremely clean an comfortable

Really enjoyed our stay, bed was comfy and it was exactly what we needed for a night in Oban before getting the ferry. Loved that we were able to come and go as we pleased.

Everything exactly as promised, comfortable bed, quiet nights sleep, good value basic accommodation.

We stayed on the top floor where we had to share a bathroom and toilet with other rooms on the floor. That was a struggle because it was sometimes occupied when you needed to use either of the facilities. The shower in the bathroom was broken. Water was leaking through the heater and barely any water from the shower head unless you use a finger to block the leak. Even then, the shower had barely any pressure. This made showering a frustrating experience for us, and I imagine for other guests as well. Also, parking around the guesthouse is not free, so be prepared to pay for parking during your stay. I don't think that was something that was stated in the listing before we booked it, so that was a surprise.

The rooms were clean but small, the beds were ok for comfort. The location was great. We were a bit disappointed with our stay .. from pictures when booking I seen a sink .. assumption was that we did indeed have an ensuite with our bedroom ... in actual fact all 8 rooms had SHARED BATHROOMS... just so that the next guests are prepared as that isn't as clear as it should be on the website. We were on the 3rd floor and it was quite a climb to the top for seniors so again .. just so people are aware of this. The third floor shared bathroom had the toilet with the shower .. the second floor bathroom was seperated. There were wait times to use the bathroom especially since the shower was a slow drizzle it took quite awhile to complete. I wouldnt recommend thus stay for seniors.

We had one night's stay in a family room on the ground floor including an en-suite. We met Joyce on arrival who was lovely. The room was perfect for us, very clean indeed & all had a good night's sleep. Great location situated at the northern end of town, would definitely stay here again.

Very responsive and helpful host. Clean and nicely decorated. Could use new bed mattresses.

I just arrived in the evening and left early the following morning, but the bedroom was a good size, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The en suite facilities were good too. I would definitely stay there again.

Very misleading on the website about the lack of ensuite facilities. If old fashioned B&B is your thing then this might be for you. Oban is lovely - disappointed with the guest house.

Easy quick check in. Good location for Oban centre.

Great value for money. Clean room, comfortable bed, hot shower, great location - not much else you need.

Great little place to stay while exploring Oban

Excellent location in Oban, staff were very helpful, room and facilities were very clean, wifi wasn’t good in our room and the bed was very uncomfortable.

Oban is a lovely wee town and is very busy. I think that guesthouses and hoteliers take advantage of this and charge way over the top. £95 for a room with no en-suite and very basic facilities. The kettle didn’t work in the room. If it’s just a room to get your head down I’d recommend this place. It’s clean and the shared shower room is as clean as the other guests leave it behind them.

Just what you needed for an overnight stay.

Like the previous reviewer of this property we were also disappointed to find that we were also given a double room with a shared shower room rather than a private bathroom that we booked and was detailed in our hotels.com receipt (photo attached of booking shows standard room and private bathroom and have checked and if you go in to site today standard room shows private bathroom. As we were very tired after our journey and waiting around for 3 hours to gain access to our room at check in time, we could not face going back down 3 flights of stairs as we were out on the top floor and then have to go next door to the adjoining guest house to find the owner to complain and then back up all the stairs again. We also felt looking back that the owner having used the words “You are in Room 7 - which is the room you paid for” when she gave us our room key that she knew we had actually not been given a room with private bathroom that we had booked and she was used to people complaining about not getting the room they booked hence using the words she usd. To make matters worse - the shared shower room was through the wall from our bedroom and when any of the other guests took a shower, we felt like we were in the shower room with them as the wall was very thin. The room was clean & comfortable but having seen there is only 1 other review (why only 1 from 11 rooms)) and had the same problem it makes us feel we were cheated & hotels.com should check out this property.

Rooms were clean and fresh, however don’t be fooled by “en suite”. All rooms share a bathroom on each floor with a sink in the room. We presumed we had our own. Other than that, we had a nice overnight stay.
