What a great place to stay. Very central with a quick walk to everything. The room was very nice and so convenient having a washer/dryer right in the room. Friendly staff and having breakfast foods in our room for the whole stay when we checked in was great and they gladly provide additional if needed.

This place was a decent stay. Central and clean. It’s a little tired and in need of an update. The elevator was broken down for the entire visit and the cleaners came banging on our door 10 minutes before checkout time only to deliver an ultimatum that we needed to be out in five minutes. That really pissed me off.

Nice big apartment and good location for the main hub of The Royal Mile. There was also a washer/dryer which came in handy. Very quiet as set back off the main road. Only problem for us was that the power kept tripping randomly and we had to go down for reception to go and reset it. It became a bit of a pain after a couple of days. Not sure if this happens in every room but it was an inconvenience to us. Overall, well priced for what you got and location.

We booked the two bedroom apart hotel. This is more of a 3* hotel than 4*. It’s very run down. Bathroom fine, grout dirty and good shower power but old building. Sensitive smoker alarms so can’t keep doors open making the apartment quick stuffy at times. The windows open but at ground level can be noisy. Good central location and 5 minute walk to main royal Mile shops. Our issue was retuning on our second evening, which was after a wedding (1am), the above room had leaked through the ceiling in to the kitchen. The floor was soaked. The ceiling was wet. We informed and showed staff. It was coming through a light as well in the ceiling which obviously is dangerous. A towel was offered for the floor. In the morning on checking out we informed staff again - who appeared unaware and shocked. A new room was not offered - although given the time I think the place was fully booked. But the whole situation was not handled well. In the morning there again was just an ‘ok’ and it was written down. I don’t think this level of service is representative of a 4* hotel. The location and breakfast hamper were the only two positive notes to the stay.

Pros: Room was nice, kitchen with refrigerator, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle and tea/cofee! Cons: twin beds pushed together with separate bedding! Does Not t have parking- you need to park 1/4 mile away- we return med to the hotel and grabbed our luggage- came back to a parking ticket 100 pounds! We specifically searched for hotels with parking!!

The location of the Holyrood Aparthotel was absolutely amazing. The hotel was very clean, and all the cooking amenities were excellent. Having a washing machine with detergent provided meant I was able to come home with a case full of clean clothes. Would highly recommended as a place to stay in Edinburgh and would happily return again.

The place was alright for the price you pay, but it was definitely showing some wear and tear. Our main significant issue was the noise from the air conditioning unit clunking and banging through the night, to the point where we had to turn it off despite the heatwave. Check-in/check-out was fine. Probably wouldn’t stay again for the sleep issues. Location was alright.

On the property website they advertise secure luggage storage but it is not secure and they ask you to sign an indemnity to boot. If you arrive before three check in time there are only three seats in the ‘lobby’ and limited luggage room . Great location close to Holyrood Palace.

We booked the Aparthotel for Edinburgh Marathon Weekend which worked perfect. We were able to cook our own food in the immaculate kitchen. The apartment provided everything we needed. The cooker, washer/dryer, fridge, dishwasher, utensils, crockery and pans were like new and plentiful. The apartment was spacious, beds lovely and comfortable and a lovely clean bathroom with walk-in shower. Check in was straightforward and the staff were very helpful and polite. We even had a pint of milk plus several individual milks in the fridge, a really nice touch. Tea and coffee also. Location was only a 12 minute walk from Waverley Station and very quiet at night. We will definitely stay again. I can highly recommend.

Adequate and comfortable room, right off the Royal Mile. It’s worth noting that, however, that although breakfast is advertised as an optional add-on, there’s no restaurant on-site. Instead, a small variety of items are left in the room for you to choose from during your stay.

Apartment was very run down. It was handy having by the kitchen and washer and dryer but the dryer doesn’t dry clothes. There was hair all over the mattress protector so if the sheet git twisted you were sleeping in someone else’s hair. It was okay but not as nice as the pictures look on the websites. There was also garbage all over the place in the front of the hotel the whole 9 days we were there. It’s inexpensive for a reason. On a good note the location was excellent.

Staff was unfriendly and not at all helpful in trying to navigate a new city. The room was very poorly designed. One very small closet to hang clothes, coats and jackets for 2 travelers, 5 days stay. A single door on closet couldnt even be opened without moving furniture out of the way.No towel racks on the bathroom for wet towels. No shower door or curtain so water went EVERYWHERE when you showered. Abd the door had to remain closed when showering or smoke detectors were set off. Bathroom sink was set high in the way and bathroom mirtor was so high on the wall as to make it utterly useless to anyone under 5feet, 6inched tall. No cleaning service for extra towels or hygiene products. As for washer/dryer combo, took literally hours to dry 1 load of clothes. And with no hooks on walls to hang things, there was no way to even air dry items. At the very least, a drying rack could have been provided. The location was OK. But not worth it for the lack of other features. Will never recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The hotel kept our luggage which was helpful. Three of us got stuck in the elevator as it was having issues and the repair technician informed us it is not an adequate elevator for the property. After this incident only two people were allowed to ride the elevators at any one time. The bathtub in the main bathroom is dangerously slippery. They need grip pads to preventing slipping and falling. Kitchen had all the essentials and was well equiped. Nice little complimentary pkg there as well for indulging in. Fairly clean facility however, there was hair in the bath tub and beard stubble on the shelf below the mirror. All in alll not a bad stay.
