Mona Yongpyong Tower Condominium

swift & easy check in!

3D/2N at Yongpyong Ski Resort, purple ski shuttle bus stops/parks at the parkade next to Condo Tower, so very convenient. Upon entering the Tower from the bus/street level, there was no sign to indicate that reception on the next floor up. We arrived at 11:30am, and checked in to see if room was available. Without asking us, the front desk staff checked us into room and requested us to pay 30,000 won (10,000 for partial/each hour prior to 2pm check-in). It wasn't so much the cost, it was the principle, that at least they inform you of this surcharge first! Upon exiting floor to room, we noticed a smell from the carpets in hallways and they were fraying. The building was due for a re-flooring and paint job; otherwise, it was located beside the slopes, very convenient. Room was spacious, with rice cooker, microwave, stove-top (no oven), cups, dishes and cutlery. We had an "ondol" room, but floor mattress pad was too thin to sleep on, even though we are used to hard/firm mattresses back home! The duvet was thick and comfy, and they provide traditional Korean bead pillow, which was comfy to sleep on. There was no English instruction on how to operate thermostat in room. It was hot and stuffy in room due to the radiant heat from floor. Had to open patio door to cool down room. Housekeeping staff spoke minimal English.

The property is facing the centre of the ski slopes and walking to the ticket office takes about 5 minutes only. The property does not offer humidifier so the room is very dry and the throat becomes dry in the middle of night. Unfortunately, the property does not offer spa or sauna services to sooth the muscles after exercising.

For the value and location it's really good at the price i got it for. It's an older place that needs to be more modernized for a better review.

Overall is good.

The youtube option on tv was amazing! The beds were comfortable and we had a very good night sleep. The cafes and restaurants downstairs were nice and especially convenient since there is a Halal option for muslims. The receptionists were super friendly and helped us call our taxi upon check out. It was a pleasant stay overall.

Hard Korean Ondul bed. Excellent location. New buildings with accommodation springing up before the Olympics.

Fine ski resort. Minus is that only face towels provided as full sized towels. Good value for money. Great location and comfortable.

Building work. Banging and drilling from 7.30am in flat above. however the resort is very nice and skiing is excellent.

Good sized room for all our ski gear with lots of cupboard space although few coat hangers. Beds were a good size and in good condition but the hardest I have tried to sleep on. Full fridge freezer but no toaster. Beware absolutely no signs or instructions in English - could not figure out how to turn off heating, which bin for recycling and unplugged the fancy bidet. Hopefully they will remedy this before the 2018 winter Olympics. Location great an easy walk to ski lifts, convenience store in basement plus various eating places. Nice view, and would overall recommend - especially if you have someone who can read Korean.

Great location to the resort ski slopes. A large supermarket in the same building where you can shop groceries and items to cook your own meals in the room. A few restaurants available at the site too, and the shuttle bus pick up and drop off point is just next to the building, which is more convenient comparing with other hotel or hostel at the site. Downside: I was told only one time free room cleaning service for my whole stay of 4 nights. When I called the housekeeping to clean my room, the only thing the attendant did was bringing in 4 towels, a toilet roll, and remove the rubbish from the kitchen's garbage bin. No cleaning of the room, toilet including the rubbish bin inside, change bed sheets, or even to remove the used towels from the toilet, or clean the floor.

No shampoo and conditioner provided at all. Only body wash is provided, which doesn't quite make sense. Only body wash but no conditioner or shampo? The view outside our room was nothing much, and I would expect more since the room is right inside the ski resort. It's not a cheap stay but overall it was a pleasant one as we slept comfortably and very warm.

Pleasant stay. Location was ideal...5 min walk to the skiing area.

I recommend leaving spring riding in Japan, because there was barely any snow. But that didn't stop Yongpyong resort charging ridiculous prices! There were 5 lifts open. The staff at this hotel had little information to offer about t/f to another city and weren't willing to find out for us, their knowledge of open restaurants was limited too. I would recommend staying at Alpensia resort only 5 minutes drive, as it had way more facilities and is not as run down / tired as Yongpyong.

Had an ondol room. Would prefer sleeping on a bed though. But overall the room was spacious and clean. Value for money.
