Casa Asprón

Our host was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The old-style room was big enough and had a view up to the basilica. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent. Parking just out front. The reception area was down and around a path to the rear of the building. There is a footpath behind the property which takes you up to the magnificent basilica and awesome cave chapel and it was a short drive to take the shuttle bus up to Los Lagos.

I am having problems submitting a true review about this lovely little B&B but the website wont let me for some reason -shame as I had a lovely stay here but for some reason hotels.com decides my review can not be processed because of THEIR bots who seem to run the review process. Sorry about the rant -please try this lovely hotel - I had a great time here and please be wary of hotels.com and their reviews. Lets see if they let this through.

Ok this was a little gem of a find but might not be for everyone. Let me explain - the welcome and location was perfect but it is quite a long way from a town - ideal if you like peace and quiet but if you want to wander from bar to bar to restaurant not so. I only ate there for breakfast but it was lovely if “traditional” I have had similar in other town hotels but do not expect a large buffet experience. I came to this from a Paradore and was not disappointed. I enjoyed my stay and I would most certainly stay here again. The location is ideal for the lakes at Covadonga and the surrounding countryside. Again I have no complaints and only praise - especially for the price. If you like peace and quiet and somewhere away from the mainstream give it a go!

Really enjoyed our stay at Casa Aspron. Such charming and attentive hosts. Homemade cake was a real treat. Great location, 5 minutes to Covadonga, and 10 minutes to other restaurants. Do check with them directly when they open though, as Google often incorrect.

The hotel owners were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in multiple hotels during our trip and the breakfast offered at Casa Asprón was by far the best, including homemade cake! The location is also perfect for accessing los lagos de Covadonga. The only downside was the room was a bit dark and small but it was good value for money overall. Be aware that there's only one local restaurant that serves dinner past 7pm. However, Cangas de Onís is a 15 minute drive away with plenty of options.

We loved the location, close to the Lagos and Miradores as well. And also, a convenient location in Covadonga as well. Beautiful place to stay, and such lovely hospitality too!

The host was very welcoming and the room was comfortable. The location is great, within walking distance of the Basilica and the Church of Our Lady. However, don't expect to get anything to eat or drink after 7pm

Loved our stay at Casa Aspron! We loved the loft space in the triple room. Our hosts were very friendly and made a great, filling breakfast. The location was quiet and provided easy access to the lakes and sanctuary. It was a great location to get an early start ahead of the crowds. I would highly recommend.

Great advise from the owner with respect to local hiking trails. In the spring the local dining options are limited

Family home business, unique experience

We arrived to Casa Aspron by mistake thinking that it was located close to Cangas de Onis. Fortunately, our mistake gave us the opportunity to enjoy the excellent personal service and advise of Jorge and to visit the Virgin of Covadonga Sanctuary firsthand. We highly recommend consider this apparently simple but great place to stay if visiting the Sanctuary or just as night stay. However, you may have to take into consideration that the rooms do not have air conditioning that could be an issue during hot summer nights.

Our 3-night stay at Casa Aspron was great. The positives are the location of the property and the host Jorge. Jorge was very patient and gave us all the information we needed to explore the hiking paths and restaurants in the area. His restaurant recommendations were super awesome. The had two issues. On the first night we had cushions with hair on them. ad very unpleasant. We left them at the desk and informed the host. He had all the linens changed the next day. The other issue we had was the room was super hot and we had to leave the window open. As our room was facing the main road it was a bit noisy. It was partly our fault to not read that the rooms did not come with air conditioner. Except for these two issues we had a great stay and we would definitely stay at this property if we are visiting in cooler months. The property is well maintained and clean. The breakfast is so yummy and plenty of options that we skipped lunch two days. On the day when we could not have breakfast and had to leave early, Jorge was kind to pack us a nice picnic style breakfast which we took with us on our hike.

Hosts were very friendly , check in/out was swift and easy and generally a nice place to stay.

Very well placed country-side base from where to explore the National Park. Exceptional welcome, our hostess was very happy to download her wealth of local knowledge, where and how to go, where to eat, and recommendations for on onward journey. Oh, to add, she cooks a tasty breakfast! This is not a starred hotel, other options exist, but if you want a local style stay, highly recommend
