Somewhat old-fashioned decor but quiet, clean and comfortable. Helpful, friendly staff.

Excellent hotel in a lovely neighborhood. The rooms and beds were comfortable with excellent amenities. The hotel is within walking distance of the Bilbao metro. There is a beautiful plaza Olavides a block away with lots of restaurants.

Not sure who gave out the stars, but this is a far cry from a 4 star hotel! Old dated decor, spotty internet, creepy linen and the list goes on

Good, traditional Madrid hotel in a great position. The Metro is accesible within a couple of minutes at Bilboa and Iglesia. For the airport, get on the underground at Alonso Martinez (Line 10) (10 minutes walk) and change at Nuevos Ministerios (Line 8 Pink). Alternatively, the taxi cost us 30 euros and took 20 minutes. There is a charming square nearby the hotel - the Plaza Olivide with small bars and cafes. There are many restaurants in the area and it is easy to walk into central Madrid in 20-30 minutes (Sol, the Retiro, Prado etc., etc.,). The room in the hotel was large and comfortable (apart from one set of noisy inconsiderate neighbours. The staff on reception were welcoming, helpful and professional. Breakfast is limited but perfectly adequate and of good quality and again the staff were excellent. Overall, this is a good hotel in an excellent area away from the busy centre which is easily accessed. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation..

Clean friendly hotel but don't use the room phone $$$

We've stayed at the Juan de Austria several times over the past few years and it's always been spotlessly clean. Rooms are generously sized and the local area is convenient and quiet.

Five of us staying over for one night in two rooms. Staff charming and helpful. Hotel had a style of its own, in keeping with the name, but clean, comfortable and functional. Would stay again for sure.

Attended a Madrid conference and was able to attend via Metro which is a couple of blocks from the Hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful and gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants. The room was spacious and comfortable with all the amenities. We were able to store our luggage for 5 days when we went to Morocco. Great value for the money. Will definitely stay here again!

I had a very good stay at this hotel. The service was very friendly, the room spacious and the staff very helpful. The location is great for the priced paid. You can walk to many of the nearby attractions such as Retiro Park and the Prado museum. The hotel is also located close to Bilboa Metro station.

I spent just a night at this place but I can say the people in charge are very friendly, the room spotless, very quiet neighborhood even with the location right at the heart of downtown Madrid... plenty of bars and small restaurants inside a walking distance. On top of this, place is easy to reach by bus or train... I recommend it.

Really enjoyed my 3 night stay at this hotel. The staff was great - very helpful with metro directions and answering all my questions. Room was quiet, clean and large for European standards. Very close to metro stop, but be aware that there are multiple exits at this station and you can come out a few blocks from the hotel.
