I must say that this hotel is definitely not a 5 star category. There is no air-conditioning in the lobby or the lifts. the staff were rude and not friendly at all. My partner and I wanted to see if we could arrange our wedding there and we were told the events manager will come and see us and never did at all. The rooms are dated and in need of updating. They claim to be a spa but they fail to tell you the spa is closed for 3 days of the week. so they need to take that out of the name. we booked as we wanted to use the spa. to be honest very disappointing for the money they charge and it doe snot fair well that we were ignored by the events manager Vanessa on showing her interest to host our wedding. Very disappointed

Very large comfortable room. Large bathroom, great tub. Spotless clean. Great private balcony with table, chairs, sun lounger. Tons of hot water for shower, but strangely very little hot water for bath tube. Buffet breakfast was so-so. Can walk to marina in 5 min from hotel. Large golf course, but I’m not a golfer so can’t comment on that. Ideal if visiting the marina to look at yachts for sale.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. To claim to be a 5* is laughable. Upon arrival, we had no greeting eg "Welcome to the hotel, how was your trip, do you need help with luggage"? The receptionist merely barked that he needed my passport, I replied I didn't have it (we had driven 400 miles to the hotel rather than flying). Again he barked "I need it" without even looking up from his computer screen. Once this issue was overcome, we were handed our room keys and sent to the lift (in the wrong direction), no information about the hotel facilities were given e.g. breakfast time, pool location etc. The room had no coffee / tea making facility, not even a bottle of water was provided. This is pretty standard in a 2* or 3* hotel. One could call room service for refreshments at 2:50 euros for a cup of coffee. Paying the best part of £185 per night, this is totally unacceptable. We asked to borrow an iron and ironing board and we're told "No, you have to send to the laundry". We went to the club bar and after waiting 10 mins for service we went to the bar ourselves for service. The hotel rooms are spacious yet soulless, e.g. no artwork. There is one mirror in the whole room, some 10 feet from the plug socket so drying my hair was a bit of a challenge. I discovered on our last morning that yoga and the like take place, there was no hotel information book in the room. When we checked out of the hotel, we didn't even get a "Goodbye"

We asked for rooms together well in advance. My husband is a regular user of this hotel for business and we expected the usual service but as a family the room and service was poor. He doesn't normally eat in the hotel apart from breakfast so the dining was unknown. Disappointing and disengaged, sometimes discourteous staff. A few were great though!

We stayed bed and breakfast. Breakfast was really good. From walking around the area this really is the best hotel. We travelled as a couple so it was good that in the main families were at the beach hotel. Getting out of Almerimar on buses was nigh on impossible ... but we were ok with that. Everywhere was easy walking distance.

The Hotel Golf Almerimar was a the best hotel in Spain!!! Although it's location is like a barren desert and the nearby land is laced with ugly greenhouses, we would definitely stay there again if we were passing through this part of Spain. The rooms are super large with incredible terraces ,excellent modern decor, great air-conditioning and a super restful bed.The bath is very spacious with an exhilarating shower and large tub. The pool and outdoor areas were expansive and with loads of lush greenery against the hazy mountains.We are not golfers but this hotel made us want to take up golf!! The Spa was amazing and we had an incredible couples massage and enjoyed the spa area for an hour before our massages. Yep we felt newly revived when we hit that road back to Costa Brava.

Restaurant was closed upon arrival and so was the spa. The staff not very helpful and no services available at the pool area. We paid for a junior suite, the minibar was only stocked with 2 bottles of water.However, very nice breakfast and beautiful surroundings but this is certainly not a five star resort.

0n arrival wanted to go to bed at 7:30pm as it had been a long day, only to be greeted by pumping (loud)aerobics music coming from directly under my room (no10). Gym underneath. Had to move room, new room not as nice, view of road and car park, instead of pool and golf course. Breakfast first rate 10 out of 10. Hotel nice and clean but surrounding area pretty quiet. Hotel wouldn't waiver my 15 euro bar bill when I checked out as compensation for moving rooms (not much to ask is it), as its "not the hotels policy too". One of the reception desk managers even began to raise his voice when I told him I wasn't happy, left hotel and will never return.

Lovely hotel, close enough to town and harbour. Excellent room, fantastic bathroom and comfortable bed. Only disappointment was that you had to pay extra for use of the pool and spa facilities. €18 extra per person to have a swim is a bit steep. Think if you've booked a spa hotel, then the spa facilities should be included.

Everything fabulous, apart from very noisy music, on till past 3am, (it was a saturday)we couldnt sleep, but we were on the 1st floor, probably over the top of the music, however i rang reception to complain, it did seem to quieten down afterwards. Breakfast was great.
