The location of the hotel is amazing and the views from the rooms were spectacular! The resort needs a major investment in upkeep - from the towels and bedsheets, to a refurbishment of the bathrooms and pool. The staff was very friendly although a lot did not speak English and so there was some miscommunication. Overall the resort is situated extremely well, but needs some refurbishment.

I've been in Sri Lanka for a few months, so I can honestly say this getaway was a treat. Great location with Dickwella beach on one side and turtle point in the other. It was so exciting to swim with a gigantic sea turtle. Not crowded, lots of nice beach area. The hotel pool was lovely and clean, though it didn't feel chlorinated at all. Loved that they served drinking water in glass bottles which was a great touch. Staff were lovely. Roads around are chaotic, typical to Ski Lanka and a bit stressful to walk in some areas. Breakfast was a huge buffet and though I wasn't going to, I ate at the hotel both nights (so as not to walk around in the dark on my own) and was pleased. Staff were very helpful with my food allergy. I am hoping to stay here again!

After our hotel in Mirissa was double booked for New Years we was very happy that we spended the extra money upgraded to Dickwalle Resort and Spa. We immediately felt home with a nice room, good breakfast and dinning buffet and for New Years eve, the hotel made a big effort to make the guest feeling comfortable with good food, dancing and competitions.

Nice relaxing spot on the beach with a pool as well. Nice sheltered place to learn to surf without too much of a crowd.

The room was large and clean. Service was friendly and we booked with breakfast, which was a buffet. They did made to order omelettes but other than that the food was nothing to rave home about. The 'pizza bar' did not seem to be operational while we were there, but they served some from the main restaurant menu.

It’s value for money. Staff was helpful and supportive. WiFi in the room was not stable. Food choices were ok and housekeeping was very attentive. Water pressure was not the best. Must visit the beach restaurant Mahi Mahi next door for the chilled ambiance.

On arrival at the resort we were greated by curtious staff and told that our room had been upgraded to a superior room. The room however was extremely old, the windows were rotten when we opened one it fell out completely the entire frame. The floors were red title but the tiles were breaking down so everything was covered in a red dust. The bathroom felt unfinished the door had no handle instead a latch bolt on both sides. The curtains were old, the safe did not work if it did would have been no good as it was not secured to anything. The wardrobe doors did not fully close and the draws wouldn’t open. The bed felt really old and was not comfy. The mosquito net had holes in it. There was a tv but the image quality was so poor you couldn’t watch anything. The rest of the resort was nice a big pool area, restaurant etc but we did not eat there. On checkout we asked if they could arrange a taxi for our onward journey and they offered the hotel driver but the fair was extremely expensive when challenged they dropped the price by 20% but this was still double the price we eventually paid a local driver. They were also completely unwilling to help us find a taxi it felt like they had a captive audience and were willing to rip us off and did so with a smirk. Overall not worth the price probably the worst hotel of our stay in Sri Lanka thankfully we were only there one night.

The hotel has an excellent, very professional dive center – and the diving is very enjoyable. The food is very good – both the buffets and the a la carte restaurant. Overall a good impression but many things are a bit hit-and-miss, mainly due to staff attitude. The spa (a one-woman show) is very good if a bit pricey by Sri Lankan standards – but treatments are 15% shorter than advertised. Hotel night guards on the beach beg for money. The hotel was helpful arranging various transfers but when we needed to go to Mirissa at 5-15 am we were not allowed to leave for 20 minutes because a signature was missing on driver’s paperwork – we almost missed our tour.

A nice idea but disappointing. The food was over priced for what it was. There was only 2 things on he al carts menu that didn't have wheat in. Which is a problem if your a coeliac. Then we was very hard and uncomfortable.

This is a lovely hotel set in a great position with ocean on two sides. The property has been upgraded and is well managed. The staff are great and helpful and an asset to the hotel. The sea and surrounding area is scenic and well planned with nice gardens and a number of areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. The pool is not deep but is huge and enjoyable for a swim and relaxing. Their buffets are very good for breakfast and dinner. Stay with the local food and don't order the burger off the a la carte menu. It was dreadful and full of gristle! I quickly went back to the local fare and buffet which I thoroughly enjoyed. Only a couple of small criticisms. One is that that wifi is only available in public areas unless you want to pay for it. Everywhere else we stayed offered free wifi in rooms and throughout the hotel and I would hope that they changed their policy and did the same. The other is that the bathroom had been upgraded but needs some lighting over the mirror. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel.

We decided to add two days and those two days were quite expensive for what one receives. The beach is okay but a bit rough. Food is fair! I feel overall overpriced for the country.

Mooi hotel, schone kamers met mooie badkamer. Echter wel hele donkere kamers en een hard bed wat bij elke beweging piept en kraakt.
