Åkeshofs Slott

One advantage of having a petty aristocracy is lots of castles around. This 1800s castle and grounds has been converted into a convention center and hotel. The rooms (in t the servants quarters) were clean and comfortable (with a real double bed!) but somewhat dated, the prize is the breakfast in the main house.

The position

Everything minimalist and cheap. Our room has been in a barrak, away from the castle close to the railway. Very basic breakfast with cheap ingrediens.

Whenever I want peace and quiet I come to this hotel in Stockholm. Beautiful premises, personal service, good food, easy access to the city. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay, the room was comfortable and clean and the location, while a little way out of town, is otherwise fantastic. The hotel is surrounded by very picturesque parkland and is in a quiet location where you are guaranteed to get a good nights sleep. Lovely old rooms with lots of character and the breakfast was really first class!

I am been a few times to Stockholm and decided to explore accommodation options outside the usual areas. Found this gem of a place. A mere 23min metro ride from the Old Town (Gamla Stan) station to Akeshov station. Lovely place rich in history with nature walks. The Royal Palalce is also not far away, about 40min stroll. I stayed in single room number 8. Small and cosy. Good wifi if you want to watch movies online. Friendly check in. I also made use of the sauna in the basement, all for myself, one can lock the door. Lovely main house with a huge lounge, lady who checked me in said I can explore. If you like drinking tea a lot, bring your own little kettle along, none provided. I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast options, no warm scrambled eggs or omelet served, standard Swedish cold breakfast. Breakfast room stunning! But I will definitely want to stay here again and this time for at least 2 nights.

My sister and I and our niece stayed three nights here and would definitely come back. The staff were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. The historic main building has the restaurant/breakfast room, where they serve a nice range of items for the included breakfast in buffet style. Dinner, if you choose, is very good but a bit pricey if having more than one course or wine. The hotel appears to cater largely to meetings, weddings, and conferences, but we found it served us nicely as tourists as well. It's just a few steps from the T metro station, only 20 minutes from central Stockholm. Our room was clean and modern, a bit tight for three but we knew it would be. The beds (even the roll-away) were very comfortable, the bathroom pristine and hot water plentiful. The rooms in our building shared a small comfortable lounge with sofas plus a fridge, a microwave, sink, and coffeemaker. The outdoor stairs down to our building were a bit challenging to handle with luggage. The adjacent park grounds afford plenty of paths for exercise or enjoyment. Overall I would highly recommend Åkeshofs Slott.

Allt var helt ok men lite trångt badrum men inget som störde oss Logistiken med tunnelbanan var kanon och lätt att hitta dit Personal får höga betyg i allt 👍👍👏👏

Mycket god frukost

Ringde två dagar innan besök för att arrangera tidig incheckning (från 14.00, skulle kosta 150kr extra). Anländer 14.02 och får då veta att vårat rum INTE är färdigt. Har blivit någon kommunikationsmiss hos personalen. Vi får tillsagt att rummet ska vara klart inom 15 minuter. Vårat resesällskap fick checka in tidigt trots de inte har ordnat med det på förhand. När klockan är 15 (ordinarie incheckningstid) har vi fortfarande inte fått tillgång till rummet. Så en tidig incheckning blev en sen incheckning. Fick frågan om vi ville ha en läsk som ersättning, vi tackade nej. Sängen var för mjuk för våran smak. Hade större förväntningar på frukosten... Trevlig personal, men funkar inte att de behöver springa runt och göra flera saker samtidigt. På morgonen var det tydligen höstmarknad. Det var en utmaning att ta sig in i flygeln (boendet har flera externa byggnader med rum) då någon parkerat en skåpbil tätt inpå dörren så den inte gick upp helt (känns inte bra i brand/utrymningssynpunkt). Vid utcheckning står receptionisten ute och säljer "hotellmerch"(?) så blir en liten kösituation.
