Very helpful staff, we have recommended the hotel to our daughter. Good location, & bus stop out the front. A buffer breakfast was included, & it offered a nice variety of options.

It was a brief stop over on my drive to Italy. The hotel is very quaint. I liked the location.

We stayed at Hotel Alexandra for 1 night before going day hiking in Ticino. The staff was friendly and helpful and room sparkling clean. BUT the central air conditioning system has units in each room giving off a a loud ERRRHHH sound of an electric motor starting every 2 minutes. It was impossible to sleep, and there are no staff in the hotel overnight. I barely slept 3 hours due to this torturous noise. The staff are aware, and when I complained the next morning they were sympathetic, but said if the AC is off guests will complain of the heat. Apparently no plans to repair it. suggest only staying there in the winter.

Hotel Alexandra was a 15 minute or so walk uphill from the train station. Third floor room had some low beams to duck under, and shower and toilet facilities were shared. Room was very clean and we had a view of lake from our window. Breakfast was very nice, and well worth it with the high price of restaurants in Switzerland. We left an item in the room and they mailed it to us, which was really nice of them. Enjoyed our stay here.

Location - 1500 meters walk from Piazza Grande. Covered parking adjacent to the hotel. Air-conditioned room. The room was in the attic, no bathroom and shower included. Toilet and shower were shared. Extra charge room with bathroom and shower included - 40%!! There is no elevator. Dining room with a good breakfast.

Great place to stay just a few minutes to by foot from the Locarno train station. I suggest if arriving by train use the bus for transfer, will stop right in front of the Hotel. (I think it was # 1, get off at stazione sociale or just ask the bus driver, runs every 15 min.) If you are without luggage it's an easy stroll to Locarno, old part of town or lake promenade. The Hotel is very clean ( recently renovated ), staff extremly friendly ask for ideas on what to do. Rooms comfortable not very big for north american standards but was no issue for me. Breakfast simple but all you really need to get going in the morning .(unless you need your eggs & bacon...) Must see : Madonna del Sasso perched on a rock above Locarno , easy to get by funiculare or by foot. (steep climb but well worth the effort) The church is under renovation but still open to visit , amazing frescoes inside the church!

Very good standard for being a budget hotel. We stayed at the top floor in one of the rooms with shared bathroom. Everything were very clean. Nice breakfast buffé and the most important, friendly and helpful staff. Location is good, just 5-10 minutes walk to the train station, the lake and the city. Will recommend this hotel to all my friends who will go to Locarno.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral, man erreicht es sowohl mit der Bahn ( bis Locarno ), und dann mit den Öffis ( Bus 1 Rtg. Gordola Centro Professionale, Aussteigen : Via Sociale, das Hotel liegt genau schräg gegenüber. ), als auch mit dem Auto. Von Locarno aus liegt es in Muralto auf der linken Seite, kurz bevor man nach Minusio herein fährt. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Für den Preis wird ein top ausgestattetes Zimmer, sowie ein Frühstück geboten, das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Auch der Service ist super, sowohl der Inhaber selbst, sowie auch das Serviceteam lesen einem fast jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab, um den Aufenthalt so angenehm, wie auch erholsam, wie nur irgend möglich zu gestalten. Die Buchung beinhalt immer auch das Ticino - Ticket, mit dem während des gesamten Aufenthalts im Hotel die Öffis im Tessin ( 2. Kl., Busse, sowie wie alle Regionalbahnen, ! nicht jedoch die gelben Überlandbusse, sowie ebenfalls nicht die Fernzüge der SBB ! ) kostenfrei genutzt werden können. Zudem gewährt das Ticket zum Teil großzügige Ermäßigungen bei Eintritten, und diversen anderen Angeboten. Man bekommt es entweder direkt im Hotel beim Check - In automatisch, oder kann es sich, nachdem man online eingecheckt hat, auch über einen Link ganz einfach online als QR - Code auf's Handy / Smart - / iPhone herunter laden.

A very cordial and warmly run hotel. Small but nice with staff who read every wish from your lips. Really highly recommended! A 10-minute walk from the centre. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. And not far from good shopping facilities (Denner and Migros).

Absolut empfehlenswertes Hotel. Preiswert und gut gelegen, so das man vieles zu Fuss machen kann. Gute Parkplätze und günstig. Frühstück genau richtig, gut frisch. Frisch renoviertes Gebäude. Better sehr gut und Räumlichkeit sauber und gepflegt.

Een klassiek niet al te groot hotel met een harmonieuze inrichting met aandacht voor detail. Het personeel is vriendelijk en meertalig, de receptie is tot 19 uur bezet. Onze kamer was niet groot, maar wel mooi ingericht met ook een koffie-apparaat en een minibar. De badkamer was heel proper met ook met goede materialen afgewerkt. Het hotel zit op een kwartiertje lopen van het station, maar de stadsbus stopt vlakbij en is gratis met de door het hotel per email verstrekte my tricino-pas op de gsm. Met deze pas reis je gratis in de regio en krijg je korting op diverse attracties. Wij waren er maar één nacht maar zouden zó opnieuw boeken als we daar in de buurt komen, een aanrader.
