Our stay at Anantara's Golden Triangle Resort was perfection from start to finish. The property is stunning, set in a huge jungle expanse with elephants roaming (talk about a room with a view)! Our suite was a major wow - the views of course, but the amenities were thoughtful and they provided everything we could have needed + more. Service was fabulous - attentive and gracious without being overbearing, which I find the perfect balance. We had one daily activity included and the activities are just SUCH a highlight. We did the Elephant Learning Experience and Walking with Giants tours and I'd highly recommend both for those wanting to interact with elephants! Lastly, the food. Food in an all-inclusive experience could easily be average but we found the food - quality and variety - really impressive. The breakfast spread was fabulous and included both Western and local options. Dinner offered a choice of a Thai or Italian restaurant - we did Thai all of our nights and loved everything. Wonderful resort from start to finish. We hope to return and bring family!

The staff and stay was fantastic! The elephants seemed a bit bored and it felt like they needed more time spent or less…I’m not sure. For the price the stay and space was exquisite. I’m not sure what to feel about the elephants and the treatment of them.

Fantastic stay in an amazing part of the world! Everything was wonderful and the service was absolutely incredible. One slight issue is the bathrooms are awkwardly designed in the middle of the rooms without true privacy. Other than that couldn't be better

I am still talking about this experience 6 months later. This is a lovely, comfortable hotel with a beautiful pool. The staff does a good job taking care of you but the highlight was the interaction with the elephants and their mahouts. Most people come here for a night, ride the elephants and leave. We did every elephant activity they had and it was equally as good as the 5 safari's we've done in Africa! The difference is that you learn about the elephants and their personalities and really get to interact with them. Yes, it's expensive and there are cheaper ways to have a similar experience but if you want a pampering vacation with wonderful animals in a really beautiful setting- this is a fantastic , special place to visit.

I can't say enough good things about the Anantara Golden Triangle. If you can afford it, then stay here! We loved everything about it. The staff is amazing, the setting is magical, and the activites are perfect. Add an incredible insight in to elephants and it was a place to remember. Loved it, Jay

The Anantara Golden Triangle was absolutely awesome. We had a wonderful time... the hotel was superb and the staff were very friendly. We primarily went for the elephant camp (which was great and was well worth the trip), but we were pleasantly surprised by the rest of the experience, which put the whole experience over the top. We ended up doing the Mahout Training, which we great. The camp had an Australian intern studying to be a zookeeper, which added wonderful context to the whole thing. Hopefully, they regularly have students there to help out. Some of the Mahouts speak english, but many do not (apparently, the sanctuary "rescues" the mahouts, as well as the elephants, because the mahout has devoted most of his life to the elephant, so when the elephant is rescued and goes to the sanctuary, if the mahout didn't also go, he would be left to a very tough existence), but they were still very nice and warm. We also did the cooking class, which we thought was wonderful and Por (the teaching chef) was wonderful and energetic. The only negatives to the whole trip were (1) I definitely gained a couple pounds from delightful food, and (2) we spent our time at Anantara at the beginning of a couple weeks in Asia and it ruined our expectations for the rest of the trip (as it will be hard for any place to live up to it). Overall, I highly recommend it and it is definitely worth its premium price.

What an amazing, magical place. It is 5 star on all counts, but most importantly the hotel staff is exceptional - warm, friendly, and very engaging. There is not a single detail that is overlooked and they treat you as if you are the only guest. And for an all inclusive resort the food is 5 star as well. There is not a bad room - though I liked that ours didn't overlook the pool - but the pool is beautiful and would not spoil your view. VIP arrival and Dining by Design are well worth the extra cost. I booked this for my husbands 45th birthday and it was one of our best family vacation memories yet. All of the excursions we did were wonderful but we fell in love with the elephants and especially loved the mahout experience. No matter what you choose you get to see elephants every day and be around them - it is a wonderful, amazing experience. If you can afford it, book it, you will not be sorry.

My husband and I went with our best friends and we could not have asked for a better location and overall trip! Anantara is perfectly located and the view from the hotel is so beautiful! The elephant camp at the hotel was one of the coolest experiences, training elephants. The hotel set us up with the best tour guide that took us three countries in one day. I highly recommend that tour. Also hotel had great food and very friendly staff!

The Anantara is not to be missed if you can get there. We had a fantastic time enjoying the property and all it has to offer. The hotel is decorated exotically so you feel you should be exactly where you are with images or sculptures of elephants surrounding you. The food is great, the staff very kind and courteous. The caprahina (although not traditional Thai) is the best I have ever had! What a great way to start the evening after a day of mahout training...by the pool overlooking LAOS while having a fabulous cocktail. We will be back!
