The employee at check in was so annoyed we were 3 min late. Ok I understand he wanted to go home, but in the morning at check out, he was still grump and annoyed we had to talk to him. We couldn’t just leave because we had an issue to work out. He was just grumpy grumpy grumpy.

Only stayed one night. I didn’t have enough time to really see the grounds due to the short stay and being tired from a day at the lake. The location was good walkable and just a short drive to kings beach. The complaint I have is that the shower head was terrible could barely wash the soap off your body.

The hotel was a nice size, very clean, and excellent location. No complaints,I woukd highly recommend.

The rooms need a makeover. Dirty and stained carpet, chipped paneling.

We stayed midweek in April (which is off-peak, “shoulder season”) and payed $150/night for a small double room with no breakfast, stay over service or microwave. I found the lack of microwaves, in the rooms or another accessible location on the property very irksome and inconvenient, when properties that charge less usually have them. They had one in their kitchen and 3 out of 4 of the front desk staff were open to heating food for us, but one was not, and he was unfortunately the first one we had encountered. The reason this was such a sticking point for us is that we are a family of four who came to Tahoe City to spring ski Palisades at Tahoe on a budget (we have Ikon passes and our own equipment to that end), and can’t afford to eat out for every meal, particularly at the sort of quant, medium to high-end restaurants that predominate in Tahoe City. So we typically buy prepared foods that require microwaving for one or more meals a day, and I didn’t relish having to go “hat in hand” to the front desk to ask them to heat four separate plates of food, particularly when the lac

Good location and great room at this price. They helped in late check-in at 12am. Everything was smooth.

Place was great. Only thing I missed was a microwave in the room. But staff were very helpful to help me warm my food in the microwave in the lobby.

Pretty much worth the money. Nothing too special. Most importantly the room was very clean.

I loved everything about Base Camp! It’s right across from the lake, right in the heart of Tahoe City, and an easy 10 mins drive to Alpine Meadows. Rooms were spotless, quiet, and the staff fantastic. Would recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet, safe, clean place to stay while in Tahoe.

We enjoyed our stay at base camp. The staff was extremely friendly and the place was quiet and clean! Extremely convenient to walk just about anywhere downtown. We would definitely stay there again.

Base camp hotels are ok, remodeled 60/70’s roadside motels. I would say they always lack insulation between the rooms, so it is noisy.

This was our second stay at Basecamp. It has a very charming vibe with a wonderful lobby and exterior fire pits to hang out at in the evening. A little more attention to minor details would make this place a lot cooler. (on our first stay, we enjoyed beers at night in the bar/lobby. Good vibes. This time the music was so lame, we went down the road to spend our time.) With that said, the staff was very nice. The beds and rooms are very comfortable and the price is excellent.

I really enjoyed Basecamp overall. I've been to the South Tahoe location before, so this time I decided to try Tahoe City. The service was just as excellent. I was a bit disappointed that this location doesn’t have a café like the South Tahoe one, and in mid-April, breakfast and brunch options nearby are pretty limited. Still, it’s a great time to visit if you’re looking for some quiet time and want to enjoy the beautiful views — the trail to see the entire Lake Tahoe is within walking distance.
