I’ve stayed here multiples while down visiting my dad who has been in and out of the hospital. The staff here is MAGNIFICENT !! From the front desk, cleaning staff (they are best ever), and the bartender!!! Sam is da man!!!

Built in homage to the original Johnson City Carnegie which burned in 1910, this modern version on the campus of ETSU looks and feels like the elaborate hotel of years gone by. We loved the experience and both our dinner and breakfast at the hotel’s Wellington Restaurant were excellent. We will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel and service was great! Walls were really thin and heard our neighbors late into the night. Power went out for about 2 minutes and there was no mention of it by anyone, nor did anyone check on anything.

This is a hidden gem! The staff wonderful, our room just beautiful with everything provided for an enjoyable stay. Can’t say enough great things about the Carnegie Hotel. If you’re in the area and want a stay that you’ll remember this would be the place!

Although it is only 25 years old, the hotel is built on the model of a hotel that stood in the same place 100 years ago. It looks like one of the finer hotels that railroad tycoons built during the 1800s to attract tourist trade. The staff was exceedingly polite and professional. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. We were there to hear a concert at a local venue, which was 5 minutes away. If we had someone studying at East Tennessee STate University, I would imagine no better place to stay.

I liked all topics associated with this stay. Everything from the positive attitudes of the desk staff, to the dining room staff, the decor, and convenient parking. An overall excellent experience. The TV channel list was a small item but much appreciated. Cleanliness was top notch.

It is a vintage hotel with wood, leather, and an old-school vibe; it is well-maintained and has just enough modern touches/updates. It offers a great bourbon/whisk(e)y selection in an intimate bar setting. Sam is a great bartender! We stayed just the night for a nearby event and had a great southern breakfast before leaving the next morning. Highly recommended!
