Days Inn & Suites Grand Rapids Near Downtown

Bathroom was filthy, with major water damage down the wall. Overall visit was loud and disturbing through out the night.

The good - I disagree with many of the reviews I read. I thought the staff was amazing. We stayed 2 nights, saw many different workers, all were very friendly and helpful. Condition of some things aside, I believe our room and common areas were as clean as they could be. The bed was clean and comfy, our fridge etc worked. The staff seems to be doing the best they can with what they are dealt. I didn’t see any of what reviews are calling homeless people or anything unsafe. It’s not a secret that doors locked at midnight. There was staff at the desk ready to let us in, non issue. Breakfast was good, the basics, cereal, bagels etc. I liked that they had donut holes and mini muffins The bad - The hotel could definitely use some repairs. It’s not in great shape. There was a hole in our shower ceiling from a prior leak or something, our vanity was held up by like 2x2 sticks and the caulk job prob wasn’t professional. It seemed like they have no budget for repairs and someone is doing what they can. It wouldn’t stop me from staying there again, but just fyi. I waited too long to book for van andel, this was avail and not $600. I paid more than an average night and I’m not upset about it. It’s 6 min away. It did what I needed, a place to sleep, shower, free parking and free breakfast. There’s also a gas station next door, I always need drinks etc. Win IMO If you’re looking for fancy or perfect definitely stay somewhere else.

There was blood on carpet in room and bathroom air didn’t work and room was dirty breakfast gross

Room was not very clean. Linens had bodily fluid stains on them, washclothes were stained. There was no hot tub like the website showed.

DON'T STAY HERE! THIS PLAY IS SO NASTY LOOKS LIKE NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO CLEAN. THE PICTURES THEY HAVE ON WEBSITE MUST BE WHEN THE BUILDING WAS BUILT. THERE MOLD IN THE BATHROOM. THERE IS NO HOT TUB. THE BREAKFAST WAS NASTY AND OLD. THE MILK WAS A COMMUNITY GALLON OF MILK

The floor was super sticky even after housekeeping came and cleaned it again. The bathroom vent had black dirt all over it. The floor look like it had not been vacuumed. The phones were broken and not even plugged in and the fridge is broken luckily they did replace the fridge and they did come to clean the room a second time but the place is just run down and very old. Not recommended. Oh and the breakfast there was no hot food which I had read in a review that there was eggs and stuff like that before.

The pool was inside. No outdoor option. No hot tub. Missing tiles on the shower wall. The room was right next to the elevator so there was a loud humming every few minutes. Breakfast was a sad experience. Watered down orange juice. Only served bread and corn flakes cereal.

Property was very dirty. The carpets were stain. The walls were stained. There were holes in the wall. The toilet was in poor condition. The bathtub was dirty. It was so dirty that we end up having to go stay at another hotel.

The floor was sticky, there were tiny hairs stuck to the shower wall and shower curtain and the toilet seat had crust on it. Before leaving for a little bit, we asked the front desk to come and re-clean the toilet. When we got back, they had been in the room, but had only wiped the sink down. The toilet was still a mess. Would never recommend staying here.

Could use some renovations. The picture for this property is not current. The washrags had make-up on them. The bed was ok tv worked The parking lot next door was over run with 20-25 cars at. 10 pm. Playing loud music and base booming.

Couldn’t check in until 4. Rooms were very dirty.

Would never stay or recommend this place.

Reasonable price, breakfast included, pretty safe and quiet area

Did the job, as we just were there to sleep mainly. But the bathroom was dirty, toilet seat was broken and would shift while using, and electrical outlet wasn't working (thankfully my boyfriend is an electrician so he got it working). And the door was very loud and would almost get like stuck while opening and closing! Were some stains also around the carpet... but do understand some stains are thought to remove!

Needed to leave. Felt unsafe and the room was disgusting. There was blood or something red spilled on the carpet. I showed pictures to the front desk and they kindly refunded me.

The hotel is in terrible condition, bathroom was absolutely disgusting, wires were dangling from air conditioner, blow dryer didn’t work.The bottom line is you get what you pay for.

Do not stay there. I knew the minute I parked in the parking lot, it would not be good. Staff barely speaks English. I told the staff right away that I wanted to pay cash and not use the card that was on file, he ignored me and ran my card. The room has dirt stains on many spots on the floor, and I am not one to exaggerate. There were stains on the white bedding. There was no air conditioning, the thermostat would not turn on And it was extremely hot/stale in the hotel room. The staff gave me back a refund without even questioning me, which almost makes me think this is a common thing for them.

When we checked in, we went to our room, and upon entering, I noticed that the bed was unmade. I quickly looked around and saw a man's belt on the table, a man's clothing on the floor, empty beer cans on the floor, and the bathroom light was on. Clearly there was someone in that room and my daughter and I were scared, and quickly left and went down to the front desk. I was given a key to a new room, which was unoccupied but the toilet didn't flush. The only thing that was said to me about any of it was a brief apology. I won't return to that property.
