DoubleTree by Hilton Long Island City, NY

It was ok.

We stayed at Aiden by Best Western, Long Island city for 4 days. It's an okayish stay for NYC. The Good: Property is decent and kept reasonably clean. rooms felt small but decent. About 10 mins walk to queensbridge subway The Bad: Neighborhood, particularly the walk to the subway isn't that great. Felt a bit uncomfortable walking at night, ended up ubering from another station from day 2. Throughout night we could hear cop sirens periodically, and/or chopper along with cop siren. Property is right across a street away from TransCanada Ravenswood power plant. One night there was a loud noise that sounded like high pressure steam coming off, which that lasted several hours. Staff said it has never happened before but online we say several reports of that. It was not only loud, was also scary considering the nature of the plant and given the property is so close to the plant.

The hotel staffs were very professional and friendly and always ready to help with a smile. The location is awesome and it is close to the subway and easy to get to time square and manhattan. The neighborhood felt safe as i always got back late and it was safe. I spent a week with my family and we had a wonderful time. The room is clean Infact if i could give the hotel 100 stars i would. Please keep up the good job and i will definitely stay again and will highly recommend

We’re to start the hotel rooms are clean and tidy with a modern look the only item missing was a small fridge to keep milk or beer wine etc the nearest subway is a 10 minutes walk to head onto the city which takes around 10mins we inquired about a late check out as to which cost $115 for approximately 4hrs until 3pm however come check out day we were inconvenienced by two fire alarms and a hotel worker wanting to change or check the room phones so basically paid $115 11am to 3pm to be awoken and kept awake i did mention this at check out there was no information provided about this upon payment for the late check out I was told it was a test and a warning was announced you don’t hear anything with ear plugs in but rest assured you hear the alarm which was sounded twice 2nd time for a prolonged time I left my details with the desk as there was no manager and of course we’re cash is involved there’s no contact left disappointed with a fatigued family !
