Extended Stay America Suites Chicago Burr Ridge

Title: Worst Hotel Experience – Discriminatory Staff and Unwelcoming Environment I’ve stayed at several Extended Stay America locations and always appreciated their comfort and value, but my recent stay at the Burr Ridge location was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, anywhere. From the moment my girlfriend and I checked in, it felt like the entire staff had already decided we didn’t belong there. We both have tattoos and piercings, but that shouldn’t mean we deserve to be treated like criminals. Throughout our stay, the staff constantly watched us, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was as if they were actively looking for any excuse to get us in trouble or kick us out. One female in particular, seemed determined to catch us doing something wrong, even when there was no reason for suspicion. The anxiety from being profiled and harassed by the staff ruined what should have been a relaxing week. At no point did the manager step in to address the situation; in fact, it seemed like she encouraged this behavior. I felt like we were being punished simply for how we look. To be fair, a couple of my friends were caught smoking in the hotel room, but neither my girlfriend nor I were present at the time. Despite this, we were treated as if we were guilty by association, even though we had nothing to do with the incident. I’ve never felt so unwelcome or unfairly judged at any hotel, motel, or Airbnb. Check in was a breeze. Advertisement for rooms - the pictures aren't exactly accurate. I have no complaints since I only stayed 1 night. There's an old cigarette smoke odor in my room. Building could use a little TLC. Other than that it's great for the night and the price.

Quiet hotel. New tvs which were nice. Was told beds were new, thet were somewhat hard. Most of the staff was very pleasant.

Nice area

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the room and establishment. There was a distinct smell throughout and I had to clean my room after housekeeping had done so.

Rooms could do with a good updating at the least a good paint job

Made a earlier prior reservation, only to find out when we arrived they rented out our room to someone else. We had a diificult time to find another place to stay at the last minute.

They did not have the room although i had a booking. The person at the desk was rude and unhelpful. At 2am in the night i had to leave the property work an 80 year old senior citizen and look for another hotel to stay. Pathetic behavior i will never forget. Had to shell out almost twice as much pretty night for a last minute booking on another property thanks to this awful experience with extended stay America and expedia. Never again

This place is a dump. No housekeeping. They give you two soaps and no shampoo.

the location was very outdated the rooms were in need of a makeover the staff was not very friendly they lied about "breakfast" at the location

This wasn once a thriving place to stay, however the breakfast is now referred to as "grab and go" and the towels are rough. When existing doors at end of hall, there were always a groupnof smokers. Not our favorite place to stay.

We stayed at this location a few years back and it was very nice. We liked that it was near a shopping area with places to eat as well. But this recent trip was disappointing because they have let the building go. The common areas and rooms are very dated. You had to request kitchen items and they were not readily available. There was no ice machine or other helpful amenities for travelers. It was fine for the price but not what we expected.

No ice machine. The bed was not a queen size. Disappointed.

Upon check in, no one explained ,wifi,that youhave to ask for pots pans silverware, cups etc.if looking for a place to sleep it's ok,chair was broken reported it was there 7 days was still broken when we left
