Hampton Inn Clinton

After a long drive, we arrived to a very unfriendly front desk person. We rented a king suite with a pullout couch, but got home very late and hadn’t realized there was no bedding for the pullout. I went to the front desk to ask for help and was met by another extremely unfriendly desk person Who was seemingly angry at me because they don’t keep betting down at the front desk and she couldn’t get me any I had no choice, but to sleep on a pullout with one flat sheet and one blanket folded to make a sleeping bag. Completely unacceptable. On the other hand, the breakfast staff was absolutely lovely and accommodating; kind and friendly. The maintenance staff was wonderful as well.

Bathroom handicap services were excellent. However, i booked a foldout couch but got a roll away bed instead. Barely enough room for it.

Had to stay here for 4 nights for a sports tournament otherwise we would’ve left after the first night. They asked if we wanted a non-smoking room. Of course we did. Does anyone actually want a smoking room these days? Yes, apparently. We learned after checking in that the 4th floor is a smoking floor. We stepped out of the elevator and were immediately hit with the smell of weed. Admittedly our room didn’t smell too bad but the entire floor just stunk. On top of that, everything is just old, tired, and cheap. The bathroom wallpaper is peeling. The pillows are wonky and the bedding is scratchy. The fridge froze all our food. The AC was deafeningly loud. The laundry is coin-operated but they didn’t have enough change for me at the front desk. We needed extra towels and were told we must return our dirty towels to the front desk first. (??). Housekeeping comes every other day and on one visit didn’t even make one of the beds. The breakfast was fine for teenage boys but lacked anything fresh or healthy. Worst of all, the coffee was weak. Keep in mind we stay in a lot of similarly priced 3 star hotels when traveling with this team so we aren’t expecting the Ritz but unfortunately this one was substantially disappointing. One positive is that the staff are very nice, friendly, and hard-working.

Stay was mostly good, had reserved a king but got double queen instead, we were told it was because we reserved an accessible room (only king available) and an elderly person needed it and that was the last one. The breakfast was ok but not great, the front foyer ac was broken but it didn’t really affect the rooms.

The good: quick, friendly check in, clean sheets, soft pillows, the outside pool was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The bad: The a/c wasn’t working in the lobby, the alarm clock in the room was broken, the mattress was lumpy, the ‘non-smoking’ room smelled like old cigarettes, the waffle batter was sour, one of the two waffle makers was broken.

It was noisy in our room with parking lot and people in the hall and our alarm clock went off at 1 am repeatedly. Also the bed was not very comfortable compared to other Hampton Inns we've stayed in

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was standard, but some items were not refilled. May have been some construction being finished as there was some holes in the side of the building.

Stayed for two days over the weekend. Television did not work. Called front desk for assistance and had to wait till next day for maintenance to fix it. Additionally, ceiling fixture was strobbing all night in bathroom. Husband in wheelchair so needed to keep a light on for him so he could see if he went into bathroom. Room smelled of dust. Mirror had a coat of dust on it. Sunday buffet breakfast was running out of food. I am requesting a refund for one day of my stay due to the poor conditions my husband had to endure.

This hotel is a reliable option for staying in the area even though the property is showing some signs of aging. The staff is very helpful but they seem overworked so hopefully the management can take that into consideration.

Stay was decent pillows were not very comfortable. 2 nights false fire alarms rang pretty annoying. Had to request a hairdryer our room did not have one.
