Highland Inn Denham Springs - Baton Rouge East

As soon as I opened the door to my room I was meet with a musty smell. There were roaches in the room as well. When I was getting the bed ready to sleep in I found someone's hairs on the sheet and what looked like either dried mud or dried poop in between the top sheet and the blanket.

This place is horrible they first asked for a deposit that they never have befoee nor is it listed on any website and u might as well kiss that goodbye no matter how clean ur room is when u check out they keep it. Second the roaches in the room r the sixe of small dogs. The dad who works in the office is rude n soeaks gery little english, also dont spill a drink after 9 or try to check out at night or your sleeping jn it cause they wont help u. Worst experience of my life! All the crackheads i almost got mugged trying to get to my room just to be woke up the mext morning to a police stand off four doors down 👎👎👎

I would rate it OK. The bad: Outside parking was not very clean; but not terrible. There was an old wash rag behind the toilet from a previous guest; Toilet seat missing paint in spots (for a lousy $15-20 they could fix this); AC worked but only ok (it was around 80° at night); I expected to be charged for my dog but I checked everywhere in my booking and it said pet friendly—and with nowhere to say yes I have a pet, I was charged $15 for the night only upon arrival. Maybe that’s an Expedia problem but someone needs to build that into my booking prior to arrival. The good: Room wasn’t cramped at all, bed was nice, tv and water were great, didn’t hear neighbors at all (it was a work crew too). You get what you pay for but I suspect for $15 more I’d get a better hotel. That said it was ok, at least for a guy traveling on his own who wants a place to sleep.

Room was supposed to be poolside but there is no pool at all. Washroom door had two punch holes. AC temperature is minimum set at 61, can’t take it below that. Room didn’t look as clean as showed in pictures

Room was very clean. Price very reasonable. Close to gas, restraunts and Interstate and BassPro, all within walking distance.

Water was off when I was trying to take a shower no heads up I had to call the front desk 😕 "oh yeah the water will be off 10mins" 10 minutes turning into 35 minutes

Didnt like anything. Last resort stay. Lots of problems too many to mention...just say no.

I don’t even know where to begin! There were so many issues! I guess I will start with the room temperature being 57 degrees upon arrival. Not shocking since the heater was turned off and there were gaps between the door and door jamb that lit up the room with sunlight. When I did turn on the heater, it was stuck on 86 degrees. Therefore, I had to turn it on for a little while until it warmed up, then had to turn it off to avoid feeling like I was sleeping in a sauna. It makes for a long night. The walls had visible patch work, strips of missing paint and gauged areas. The shower dripped 24/7. Finally there were black hairs in several places, on walls, countertops, sinks…

stayed overnight while on a long trip to Texas. the wifi was strong and also the water pressure

There was only 1 set of towels and the iron was missing burn marks on the wall

It’s was sketchy but made it through with no issues

It was okay for the most part,only to have fleas in my room.

I love the comfortable bed and clean bedding. There was no loud music or outside interference.

For the cost, this was a nice accommodation. It’s a bit dated, but overall very clean and quiet.

The customer service is just amazing and they are in a safe place rooms are clean and beds so comfortable
