Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB

When we arrived we were told our room was switched from 910 to 918. We noticed that there was no microwave in our room so our plans to eat cheap during the trip were discarded and we had to take trips for fast food for every meal. The door was broken so we struggled to enter our room every single time. The shower was very questionable to look at and had dirt and grime all over the floor. In addition, there were suprise fees for parking ($15 a day plus tax) and an incidental fee which amounted to $80 in total for us snuck in the day of checkin. It is awful that we werent warned ahead of time or charged ahead of tine when we paid for our stay.

When my daughter went into the hotel to check me in they asked her to pay a 50 dollar deposit for something but they ended up charging her the 50 dollars plus another 194 dollars which must have been a room charge and promised to refund the money but have yet to do so. So it looks like we maybe out an additional 194 dollars can you help me get a refund on one of the charges

Excellent facility! Only minor issue was missing the body wash from the shower and very low condiments for the coffee bar in the room for just being clean and stocked. Well clean and welcoming environment!

Check in was amazing. Reginald White was so friendly and informative about the local area and polite. The first night we woke up to water running out of the ceiling in the bathroom, so they moved us to a different room. We went from a terrace room to and interior room with no view and was never given a price adjustment or apology of the ceiling in our bathroom collapsing onto our belongings. I really expected better from a Hilton Hotel but I guess now I know better.

We checked in tired after a long drive and found both bedside lamps dead and half the outlets useless. A maintenance tech finally showed up (he was friendly, to be fair). He slid the nightstand away and an entire ecosystem of dust and crumbs spilled out. Then he sat on the floor and took the lamps apart piece by piece while we all just hovered there in awkward silence. He hauled the guts off to "rewire" them and came back later with the lights working but the plugs still didn't. The bathroom was worse: brown-red smears on the trash can, mildew creeping up the shower frame, and random pubic hairs stuck in the corners. I kept my shoes on the whole time. By 10 p.m., after more back-and-forth, they moved us to another room that was at least clean, but it was the same basic category-no upgrade, no real apology, just more hassle while our kids tried not to fall asleep standing up. She offered me 5,000 points and two breakfast vouchers-never mind that there are four of us. I declined. Hilton's "Make It Right" promise? Not here. Unsafe wiring, filthy surfaces, and a token offer that didn't even cover breakfast for the family. I've stayed in motels that cared more. Skip this place.

Excellent stay

Room was nice Tv would not pick up anything unless you logged into a streaming service. The cleaning people didn’t restock the toilet paper. The front desk gave us two key cards , one didn’t work . I went back to the desk they reprogrammed the key so I could get into my room and also programmed it to get back into the hotel from the parking deck twice and it locked me out of the hotel three times in the parking deck .

The rooms were well maintsined as nd very clean . Food in thevre a taurany was tastie.

Got in late and didn’t know the area. We walked to a local Italian restaurant and it was absolutely amazing. There were other restaurants close but didn’t check them out. Highly recommend.

Clean and modern appearance with plenty of amenities. Great staff was efficient and professional.
