Loved it here! Beautiful pool area. Rooms were a lot more spacious than I thought they would be( there were 4 adults n one room). Clean and staff was amazing. The only thing missing was a laundry room

Would definitely recommend this hotel. It was really clean and comfortable, in a great location. We had a nice large balcony and a view of the harbour.
The staff were very friendly and great in an emergency (we were there during the recent tsunami warning).
As an added bonus, the main lobby smelt absolutely amazing!
One thing I would change would be the adults only "pool" - it's just some sun loungers sitting in shallow water which I thought was a bit strange.

The furniture in the rooms is way too low even for me and I’m only 5’ tall. Balcony chairs are very uncomfortable and the table was rusty. Elevators are slow. Not quality expected for a HGV club. Staff was very friendly, lobby was nice, and restaurant’s breakfast food quality was very good.

The hotel is in an excellent location where restaurants and beaches are near by. However one of the three elevators was broken down for the three days we stayed there. That makes waiting for the elevators takes a long time.

My stay at this hotel was amazing! The view from the balcony was beautiful. The walk to the beach was right off the ramp from the first floor it was great!!!

Our first night was a bit rough. My wife and I could not sleep because our room was 2 doors down from the elevator shaft. However, front desk moved us and the manager was nice to give us a comp for our inconvenience. We enjoyed the food at the bar near the pool. Tavia, as a server was absolutely fantastic! She was cheerful upbeat.. while my wife enjoyed the sunset. The Modern also offer free activities. Yes, I would recommend this stay because it is close to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Enjoy the Friday fireworks!!

I have stayed at many Hiltons this was my least enjoyable. Pretty disappointed considering it was my birthday. Staff was hit or miss. Some nice, helpful some ignored me completely standing in front of them. The cleaning person oddly tried to enter my room when I asked for extra pillows. I had already said I didn’t want cleaning that day.
There was a lot of noise I think from the sliding doors in the rooms. The food had a microwave taste so I only ate there one time. The shower water pressure kept going really low. The toilet kept making weird sounds. I was told the hotel was recently purchased and so there was lots of renovation and upgrades happening. They do not have room service.
I was mostly out and about… no time or energy to complain. It was my birthday so tried to just be cool. I wouldn’t stay here again.

I’ve stayed at The Modern before the Hilton took over and I loved it then and still love it now. It’s a great area with lots of food and shops within walking distance. The hotel itself is nice and clean with friendly staff. The rooms are nice with good views and comfy beds. When I come back to Honolulu I would stay here again and again.
