Kathryn Riverfront Inn, an Ascend Collection Hotel

We chose to stay here for a quick weekend getaway out of the convenience to all the tourist things. Upon entering the bathroom, we discovered the entire wood plank above the door was coated in mold and had clearly been there for some time. We brought this to the property’s attention and the only response we got was “thanks for telling us, I’ll pass it along”. I’m super disappointed in the cleanliness of this place for how much it was ($400 for one night) and the fact that we were offered no sort of resolution or compensation for the condition of the room. There was also coffee spilt all down the wall near the TV and in the microwave. The only nice thing was we were able to walk everywhere easily.

Our stay was perfect! Room is great! Bed was comfortable, breakfast has a good variety, pool and hot tub were good, location was perfect, and snacks were amazing! Cookies in the afternoon and chowder in the evening!!!

First time visiting seaside and decided to go with a nicer hotel and wasnt disappointed.

Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Would recommend, easily walkable to all the main areas you would need.

Amedeus is one of the guys that works here at the front desk. Id come here for him alone such a funny and cool guy.super chill hotel. Really makes you feel at home thats the service everyone should have.

Staff were exceptional in their care of our stay.

Easy check in, friendly staff. Russell grabbed pool towels so our son could swim right after check in. Pet friendly. Nice touch to offer chowder, freshly baked cookies, flavored water in lobby. Complimentary breakfast was good. Close proximity to beach. Definitely recommend.

Extremely friendly front desk staff- loved interacting with the late night staff on our way in/out. River is a nice view. Hotel has easy parking and is extremely walkable to main Seaside activities. Free salmon chowder/cookies nightly which is a nice touch! Husband enjoyed the constant availability of hot Portland Co decaf coffee that was available 24/7 in the food area. I was disappointed the hot water dispenser was either empty or lukewarm unless was first thing at breakfast so that I could not get tea or cider quickly without having to make it in our room. Rest of hotel seemed clean, except for our bed. When we first went to get in it there was a clump of hair/lint which we assumed got stuck on it from the dryer. There then was a couple long dark hairs in sheet/under pillow which was hoping came from house keeping. After removing those and then getting in the bed discovered at least 10 of these hairs in-between the sheets overall, plus the main comforter in-between sheets had brown stains that looked like coffee. I’m just starting my 2nd trimester pregnant, so seeing all the hairs etc made me very nauseous and I ran to the bathroom gagging. We would have considered requesting new bedding if it wasn’t so late at night already.

The property definitely needs.New key cards doors were sticking where you could not get in or out.No benches or no security had to ask for extra pillows, shampoo and soap. And towels.. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

I haven’t been to the property in over 6 years. The pool seemed dingy and dirty. Not much of up grade for the price you pay. Bf is still great though.

Nice room overlooking the river. Calming to sit on the deck and watch the paddle boats float by. If you’re light sensitive they offer sleep masks as the doors do not have blackout curtains and it gets pretty bright in the morning. I hear they are working on a permanent blackout curtain solution.

The river is is more private than the beach in traffic flow I appreciate that.

The staff was extremely courteous and fun to talk to.

The front desk staff were amazing!! Helped hold our bags after checkout and handed us a welcome doggy bag and warm cookies at check in.

The pool is small but worked well for the little ones. The bed was comfortable, but a light blanket would be better than the comforter that was too warm. Great location.
