What Guests Say About Their Stay

We needed a olace to lay our heads for our drive to Kansas. We initially booked tge Yellow cabin, which Hotels.com said had two bathrooms. What was not made clear by Hotels.com was that those bathrooms were the campground community bathrooms. I called the KOA directly and they had one other cabin left with a private bathroom and a loft (the Green cabin). Check-in was very easy and the host was very kind and gracious. Our cabin was small, but awesome. Small kitchen, small but private bathroom with a good shower. The loft doesn't have a bed, so we took a small inflatable mattress for our daughter. They do have small sleeping pads available but they aren't great. Loved having the privacy of the cabin without worrying who was above ir below us. We would absolutely stay there again.

Please note: Cool caboose is listed to sleep 5. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teens) with adults on the bed, 2 teens on the bunk and twin size air mattress. (It can only fit 3 adult friends) It has one queen bed, one twin bed, and a child size mattress in the cupola. The hammock is too slack to function as a sleeping option. The door to the caboose toilet and shower is a set of partial saloon doors, so privacy is limited. A floor length curtain would help. Also, some more hooks to hang things like jackets or very light backpacks would help keep walkways clear in limited space. We enjoyed our time at the caboose for the unique lodging and private fire pit on the patio.

I was unaware that I was booking a KOA campground and was in shock when I arrived and was told there was no running water or bathroom in my cabin, but once I settled in it was lovely. We built a fire and enjoyed some outside time

Property has a variety of lodging options, tent camping, RV, or cabins. I like the railroad theme/history as well. Next time I am through the area, I am going to book the caboose.

The "cabin" was actually a Fleetwood trailer with wood-grained metal sides. I was expecting a real cabin. Needed to sleep 3 adults. Pull-out sofa was painful to sleep on. Afternoon sun turned trailer into an oven. Shower was good. Staff were friendly. Area was very noisy. Lost water for an afternoon. Per night price was higher than a family-sized room in a tourist area in South Dakota that we had just left. Overpriced for what we had.

We arrived in the middle of the night, we had called and were reassured this was not a problem. When we got there there was no code to the door, Brad was very helpful even though it was the middle of the night. The cabin was nice, a cute tiny house, with fridge, stove, dishes, towels, etc. We stayed 2 night but just slept there and didn’t use any of the amenities.

the website made it sound like a quaint cabin with a/c, bathroom, wifi. My wife and I got there and discovered, that there was no bathroom in the cabin. YOu had to walk to another building to use the restroom. With her using a cane, and both of us needing the use the restroom multiple times during the night, it was not a practical place for us to stay. We slept on the floor at a relative's house, and got no refund for not using the cabin. The cabin was priced as if it was a nice place. We were sorely disappointed. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Problems started at check-in. Although I had made a reservation two weeks (!) earlier via expedia, the front desk could not find any record of it. It took a phone call to the owner and discussion of where to move us, since the place we had reserved was full. Two free Keurig coffee cups came with checkin on the first day only. Otherwise we had to buy new ones. There was dried feces on the floor of the bathroom.
