Magnuson Hotel Detroit Airport

It good price and it not bad. The hotel entrance is nice and clean and the staff are super nice. But the hall way smell bad and also some area in the room need to update a little but other than that everything is good.

Overall super close to the airport and the shuttle is very convenient but the lobby smells like they are trying to hide a dead body. Very old hotel and it shows, if stayed in rooms in Tijuana that are nicer and cleaner than this room. I personally will pay a little more next time for a cleaner hotel.

I chose this hotel because I needed somewhere to sleep before a morning flight and a ride to the airport. The Magnusen Hotel met these criteria and was cheap. In retrospect I might have done better to pay a little more, as the hotel conditions were underwhelming. The bed was clean, but the carpet scared me and the bathroom was decaying (paint peeling off the walls, strange stains). I didn’t sleep much due to noise from the ice maker and other guests’ tvs. But I did stay out of the rain and got to the airport on time, so no big loss. Plus the hotel has Michigan’s longest single hallway (80+ rooms in one straight line!) so I did learn something…

Everything just looked dirty, water damage in the bathroom. Breakfast was dry cereal and waffles

Room was not clean walls where dirty toilet seat was pealing up door looked like the police had to brake in it saftt lock did not work and front lobby stayed sticky will say the morning staff was friendly

Cleanliness isn't the word to use. It's a motel and the staff acts like it .

It’s cheap for a reason. The photos online are edited like crazy. Lobby is nice but as soon as you turn the corner to get the rooms it’s all downhill. Reeks of cigarette smoke. People screaming in the halls and rooms. Room was disgusting. Stains and hair all over the bed. Everything was sticky. Lock was not even screwed into the wall. Sink didn’t drain unless you held the plug up. A/C did not work and the list goes on. You get what you pay for I suppose but good grief.

Transportation to airport was fast and timely, had to wait quite a while for shuttle to pick us up from the airport though. Loved there was a Big Boy next door, no bar - lounge as stated in the ad. Overall nice stay.

Property was runned down, needs major repairs. Walls had wholes that were spackled over, room and hallways were dirty and smelled. Trash was overflowing near exit doors. Parking lot did not appear to be safe, a man was sleeping and appeared to be living in his car. Gym equipment was broken. Would not stay again.

I already prepaid for my stay when I checked in they charged me twice for my stay when I called them about it they are ignoring my calls

Convenient to airport and close to Great eating spots .really good deal for the money and coldest mini fridges you will ever co m e across in your life

Love the breakfast having a waffle maker. The longest hallway was also cool!

I normally stay here when i go to detroit, its comfortable and gets the job done for the price sunce im only in my room to sleep anyway. This time around though the carpet has my room smelling like feet, my bathroom door wouldnt close, my fridge hummed all night and no towels were in my room I had to find housekeeping to get some. It has definitely degraded since my last stay. Time to fund a new place when i go to detroit from now on.

Rooms was extremely outdated and dirty. The shower looked sketchy. I could never use it. The door barely closed safely and I was afraid that I was gonna bring back bed bugs. Would not recommend.
